At what point can the ARLC say that crowds arent good enough and the licence should be stripped from those owners??

(im not suggesting move the team out of Canberra, but are the current operators really the best people to run the club there? Canberra people just seem emotionally dislocated from the team and the club doesnt seem to be doing much to remedy this...)

Given the arlc are responsible for the fan unfriendly fixtures, lack of marketing, lack of membership support, lack of support to help clubs financially be able to reduce ticket prices and no idea about if they want big empty stadiums or run down half empty stadiums it would be pretty tough on the clubs to blame them to the point you'd drop them.

The only people who say that the crowds are unacceptable are the derricks on here. You don't hear a peep out of the ARLC who know that an empty seat in a stadium is another pair of eyes on a TV, where the real money is.

WC Eagles got $16mill (net) revenue from bums on seats last season, far far more than any nrl clubs earn from eyes in front of tv's. It doesn't have to be an either or as the afl, NFL, epl etc is showing, you can earn a motza from attendances and just as much from TV. Makes for a good excuse though to hide how embarrassing some crowds are becoming.

Looks full, not sure what how big the stand is on the camera side? I think they said it holds around 19k so 16k would be a guess.

I agree. The NRL would be a pretty stupid business to not care about growing a potentially great source of income. The NFL certainly know this with their blackout thing.

You know what's better than good TV money? Good TV and crowd money.

How good is the AFL

Some jerkoff on a forum claiming the ARLC don't care about crowds, doesn't confirm your long held bias

so clubs have absolutely no responsibility for their own business, right...

Derpty derp derp, play the ball not the man.

So you believe that because some idiot claimed the League doesn't care about crowds that is legitimate?

Can your hand off it mate.

Your constant promotion of the AFL couldn't be more obvious.

Just like your alternate account Woody

I did t say they have no responsibility but the suggestion made was the Arlc should consider licenses if clubs fail to draw crowds. The NRL has a big part to play and in many ways more responsibility, especially if they want to set a kpi around crowd growth. Playing games on a Thursday and Monday night, having clubs in financial strife so they have to charge $60 for admission etc plays significant part in crowd sizes.
