Manly aren't well liked in QLD.

Especially by anyone over 35

So you wouldn't go and watch your team play because you don't like the opposition? In most sports the biggest crowds are against the teams you hate the most as the victories are all the sweeter. Strange mentality to have?

There wouldn't be many manly supporters there I think is the point.

would there be that many more Melbourne fans in Brisbane (9k?)
So we are talking opposition fan numbers attending rather than Broncos fans who choose which game to go to?

Melbourne have Cronk, Slater Smith should be better supported then Manly atleast, and yeah I thinks that is the gist of it.

that's great if so, for Storm to have 9k more fans in Brisbane than Manly despite their relatively young age is a great outcome for the games growth.

Up North perhaps but there's a good number of Manly fans in SE QLD.

I'm in that 35+ demo, and I hate Manly with a passion. "Bloody Manly... Arko, Manly, NSWRL run everything... Favouritism... etc". All inculcated in me at a young age by my old man.

That said, the fact I hate Manly makes me want to go along more, not less.

Do any away teams draw good support up in Suncorp when they play the Broncos?

Saints do, but it has been dropping big time. The 2009 game when Bennett came back there was heaps. But even the finals its not that dramatic.

Top 6 would be Cowboys, Dragons, Warriors, Bulldogs, Bunnies and Storm. Roosters brought a heap this year too, I was shocked.

Those watching at home think there is a lot more than there is because of strategic microphone placements in the Away Support bay.

If we look today they have not sold out the away bay so there would only be a speckle of manly fans around the place.

(yes, yes. I know there aren't really a good number of Roosters fans either)

Thats a big call, there are an absolute tonne of manly fans on the central coast and hunter. Of the people i have worked with, play soccer with and socialise with i would say 50% are manly fans.

imo seems to go souths-manly-bulldogs in this region
