Waratahs crowd 20,271.
Pretty shit for their first game of the year especially considering they are the defending champs and it's a Sunday afternoon.

panthers and roosters have a decent rivalry, the problem is if the roosters don't get away fans they don't get a decent crowd.

Of all the stadiums in Sydney the best one for Monday night footy is the SFS. In fact dare I say the only one...

Leigh Centurions got a crowd of 7449 in England today.

In second tier rugby league!! Their equivalent of NSW/QLD cup football.

Outstanding! Beat some superleague games and is streets ahead of many other Championship clubs.

This is why promotion and relegation works do well in Britain. Meanwhile the newly relegated London Broncos got 920.

Great crowd for Leigh. As for the Broncos their crowds have only one way to go. If their crowds get smaller then they might not be around much longer.

Broncos v Rabbitohs tickets on sale in ten minutes.

7Pm Thursday Night... Hate it. Given the reduced capacity general admission Suncorp now endorses for Broncos games we wont see any crowds larger than 46k(ish).

40-44k I think. If Friday it would be 44k plus.

Depends, if you are happy to go straight form work and you work in the city then I agree. However, a lot of people like to go home first and/or only attend Monday games close to where they live thus why a lot of Monday games are played at Brookvale, shark park etc.

.

Away fans now that's a excuse for poor home support. If you constantly need to rely on 'away' support means your actual home support is non-existent. You don't hear Broncos/Cowboys supporters talking about the need for 'away' fans for there crowds but elsewhere it's needed despite everyone being in close proximity to each other.

Broncos have been smashing the advertising lately. Every second ad on the radio is about their 4 game membership offer ($120 for an adult for 4 games) and its on a high rotation for tv ads as well. Good to see, I would expect a decent increase in their crowds this year with Wayne Bennett back and the advertising they are doing.

The new Interactive map for Suncorp on Ticketek is unreal. Much like ticketmaster, can litterally see what seats are available throughout the whole stadium.

What's this reduced capacity business? Have they set aside more seats for corporate etc?

Nah they just have set more sections for general admission.

So say each bay has 500 odd seats. When in GA form they only sell 90%, so that there is space to move around, etc. People are too pathetic to sit next to others unless forced.

You should have seen vs the Cowboys last year, the GA bays would have been 70% full, if that. But were "allocation exhausted".

As the season progressed and the ushers at Suncorp became a little more comfortable with bossing around patrons to sit where told, the sections started to thicken out.

I remember looking across to them for the Bunnies ANZAC day game and saw so many holes. This game was all sold and selling restricted view (about 2,500 seats), and the crowd was 44k, with a PAX of 49k.

Our main problem at Suncorp is the horrid members, Stadium members treat it as an accessory, just a bunch of corporate partners that LOVE everyone to know that they have one, you know. The fat and greasy type, resemble and egg roll. They only come for Origin and Bledisloe matches.

wouldnt that be because of members purchasing GA memberships. They would need to be guarunteed they have a seat and therefore suncorp can't sell their tickets off before the game starts without knowing if they'll turn up.

they could do what airlines do, and overbook stadiums on the assumption that people won't turn up. but you could run into issues

I doubt it.

I think they just know there are 5000 GA white seats, so if there are 2,000 GA white members, they will only sell 2,500 GA white tickets per game, and so on.

The year I lived in London I literally heard nothing about them. I still have no idea what area their field is in.
