I'm really glad we got Tariq but we cant build our pack around him because of his injury history. He's a great addition but we need Snowden and Scott to lead and make sure they aren't getting suspension.

We have two Australian reps in the team and maybe three or gour state reps if Gagai, Joey, Tariq and maybe Uate or McManus or Mullen gets a look in for nsw.

I know we say this every year but if Mullen fires, we're a shot at a top 8 or 6 spot. I think Roberts playing with a little more freedom under Stone could be really electric next year.

I'd be surprised if any of those guys got a NSW jersey next season Yosh. None of the backs will. There is a very slight chance Gagai could get a run if injuries hit the QLD team. Tariq might be a skinny chance if he starts the season on fire when he finally gets a run.

Regarding the Mata boys, Graham Hughes said this arvo his mail concerning them is that Newy can not get near the money offered by the Dogs. Take from that what you will. If Stone knows they can't be signed I expect we won't see any of them in the top grade unless injuries cruel us as usual. I hope we take that stance with them.

Well we do have nearly 1 million tied up in Aku and Gidley. They are both on very good wickets. Doesn't help much especially when Aku was not missed whatsoever when replaced by rookies.

If the Mata's don't change their minds then we'll see a shitload of Aku this year if fit. Let's hope he can find form.

I just want a decion made by Sione cos he is clearly has a different attitude now he has been in a test arena. I hazard to guess his head might have swollen a little. Cos last I read before he played in the New Guinea test was he was wanting to stay no matter what. Now it is more about him doing us favour by letting us negotiate. I have an issue with that.

Agreed I dont like the wording of the reply. Lets hope he was misquoted , certainly doesnt sound a very loyal kind of kid.

Sione has held his own at test level no doubt and I cant knock him but let's be honest, he and a few others are there through default with a masive number of players unavailable. If everyone is back on deck for Aus over the next few seasons he won't be getting a run.

If he goes to the Dogs in 2016 he won't even be playing first grade next year.

Yeah the doing us a favour by letting us negotiate is a bit rich.

Someone needs to remind the kid that if it weren't for the Knights and the time and resources they spent on developing him he wouldn't have played for Australia to begin with.

He's just a player after all. We'd want the best for ourselves as well in that situation. The knights are at fault. He should have been tied down for years before the situation came to the sh*ts.

Yosh let us remember Bennett was completely responsible for putting Sione in first Grade injuries or no injuries. These lads allegedly hid from Midley the fact they signed letters of intent at The Bulldogs even though we were under the impression they were keen to stay and were negotiating accordingly. I do blame administration in part but Bennett was boss. He could have made this a lot easier.

theres no need for so much negativity that is a constant of this forum, tonight there were no less than 4 Knights juniors playing the test, Bird , Coydner , Jacks and Sione... what we have to do for the future is make sure clubs like Canterbury and the Roosters don't steal them. We have one of the best nurseries in the game. No doubt a golden period is not far away.

And just who is going to ensure we keep the best of the best from our junior crops???? Blokes in this very forum have been banging on about how good Sione will be for the last 2 to 3 years and no one at the club had the brains to lock him up???

Before anyone has a crack at the above there was a young bloke called David Klemmer playing tonight who Canterbury saw fit to give 330K to before he'd played grade. And surprise, suprise they also did the same with a promising jnr who also played in the test tonight. That mob sure do have an eye for talent and then know how to develop it.

The fact that there were 4 Knights juniors in that Australian side last night but only 1 was actually retained and sent on to FG for us is a huge problem. Inglis was playing for Hunter Sports High as a 16-17 year old as well so that was another massive f**k up...unless he was already signed to Melb then.

Our club has history of having very very poor talent identification issues. Our absolute obssession wuith keeping Johns was a big reason we lost Bird and Tupou among others not to mention the biggest F### up in our club's history. Letting BK go. The funds to compete were either not there or we just overpaid inferior talents and watched our promising kids walk out the door. Had we paid Cordner properly and realised the short term pain of waiting for him to mature to first grade level over re-signing some hack to cover a couple of seasons was a better option, we would be on the right track.

To be honest Cordner is the only one I'm not too disappointed about. Massively overrated IMO.

Yeah, the only decent thing about him really is his hole running. The amount of times he gets smashed for a guy his size is unbelievable and not to mention the errors in his game.
