And just wait til he gets going about Strauss and Flower and co.

He's the English Warnie. And also the South African Warnie.

Ahhhhhh. Ok, now I get it.

Every time I've seen him, he's been informative.

But if he carries on like Warne, I can see why people dislike him.

Nothing wrong with his technique, and no such thing as a "test match technique" anyway.

He averages 45, has scored six hundreds in the middle order with a top score of 250. If Nic Maddinson and Peter Handscomb can get a go, Lynn would absolutely be in consideration if he had been fit
I think anyone that knows cricket knows Lynn can not play spin.

Hence, why he never gets mentioned in a test aspect.

As for Handscomb and Maddinson, it was always obvious those 2 could play at a first class level.

Lynn can play spin just fine (certainly better than Maddinson) and his FC record is better than Handscomb and Maddo. He doesn't always like to start his innings against spin, but neither does half our test batting lineup. Even Steve Smith often looks uncomfortable starting against spinners. If it weren't for his injuries he'd absolutely have been considered, presuming his form was worthwhile.

According to our selectors (forget where I read this) Maddo was picked because of his ability to play spin and with a view to the Indian tour. He has toured India previously so they have seen plenty of him against spin.

Maddinson got a century on a massive turning wicket at the SCG earlier this year against WA. Hardly anyone else got runs in that match from either side. Agar may have even got 10 wickets.

You dont think Smith starts well against spin? He is brilliant against spin and Handscomb also very good against spin.

Smiths problem against spin If there is a bowler he doesn't rate he will try and belt them out of the track. Moeen Ali for example.

Never been to Day 3.

My mates and I, for about 12 years, always went to Day 1. Breakfast at Circular Quay, and then the bus up to the ground. Was a fantastic day every year, regardless of the opponent, although the Ashes years were the best. It was always quite an event, and surprisingly enough, Day 1 nearly always sold out in those days.
Then they brought in the no full strength beer rule. Kicking out people for making beer cup snakes and banned the wave. The fun police took control. We went one year and the whole feeling of the place changed. It was f**ked. We never had any intention of going to get off our faces, but we were never going to go when they were charging the same prices for shitty beer.
Since then, we have decided to watch the test on Day one in a pub in the Rocks, or other places like Manly or Coogee. We like to spread it around.
CA can get f**ked.

Me too. Most memorable was sitting with the Barmy Army and going to the Captain Cook with them afterwards.

"We got 3 dollars to the pound, we got 3 dollars to the pound" to the tune of He's got the whole world in his hands. Fun days.

We did that ourselves. Have had many a fun day with the Barmy Army. Before the game, during and after.
I'm not sure what the fun police were trying to stop tbh. Hardly ever saw any trouble there, and in hindsight, it was not different to any other sporting event.
Except the Melbourne Cup. That day is a f**king disgrace.

I went to a corporate box with my bron inlaw for the 6ers game about a week ago - and a guy in the box said that there was a plan to make all the pubs surrounding the SCG only sell mid strength beer on game days
