I went to a corporate box with my bron inlaw for the 6ers game about a week ago - and a guy in the box said that there was a plan to make all the pubs surrounding the SCG only sell mid strength beer on game days

I bet you merkins in the box were drinking crown larger but.

Seriously, what is this world coming to?
Nanny state to the max, because 5-10% can't handle their piss everyone who can loses out.

How about throwing the drunken clowns out and stop serving them when they are clearly intoxicated????

Tbh it's not like they ever served good beer at the cricket anyway so I have absolutely no problems with it. Shit they serve Great Northern at Manuka now...used to be fking VB so it's actually a massive improvement

Australia has a massive problem with drinking, that's undeniable, and if it decreases the number of flogs who go to the games just to get pissed and cause a nuisance by 10% then it's a good move IMO.

You can always find a way to get a decent buzz if that's what you feel like (and sometimes I do)....

Batting out of his skin. Cartwright has been good on debut too, done a nice job building a partnership with Handscomb

Be interesting to see how Hanscomb goes against better bowling lineups ... he had the one test against the saffas but not sure that meant much

But so far Hanscomb looks as sound a batsman as ihave seen for the aussies in recent times

Not just better attacks but greener pitches and sub continent dust bowls, he has good footwork too. He looks like an LBW waiting to happen as he plays back a hell of a lot.

This is a fascinating test match actually, even considering the lost time.
Paki's are 5/220 odd at present. Still 300 behind.
Just say they put on another 100. Do we put them back in or do we bat for a couple of sessions and bat like a 20/20 team and try and put a couple of hundred on?
This test, despite the lost time, is delicately placed decision wise for the Aussies. No way Pakistan will win from here.

I reckon we'll bat again as we will want to bowl on day 5 as it will be turning a lot more and we got 2 spinners, a lot will depend on what happens tomorrow morning and how many runs they make.

Gotta say tho it was great to see Younis Khan in his final hurrah, he is a great batsman.
