It certainly makes things interesting. Unfortunately we don't have a spinner who's likely to bowl us to victory. The quicks can do this in spells but they'll eventually tire and become less effective, especially as the ball ages.

Pretty great day of cricket played by the Aussies. Definitely only one team looked to try and get a win out the game today.

The only way it won't be a draw is if Aust bat until stumps tomorrow and have a 150+ run lead. Then the Pakis collapse and are all out on day 5.

So according to fox sports news, maddinson has been dropped for syd test. Chad Sayers also out of 13 man squad. Hilton Cartwright stays in and both Agar and O'Keffe added to the squad.

I personally hope Agar plays at 6 and we keep the 3 quicks and either Lyon or O'Keeffe. 2 spinners and 3 quicks. Our batting may be a bit weaker with Agar at 6 but he does have a test 90.

My call on a draw was based solely on the weather forecasts, which dipped out in the end.
Just 48 hours ago, today was meant to be an almost complete washout. That changed with yesterday afternoon's forecast.

Personally, I always thought that the Paki's might choke if put under enough pressure and we had enough playing time to do so. This morning's first session batting won the game for us.
Getting 181 ahead was always going to be a pressure total for a team that are known folders and that has recently in NZ collapsed twice very quickly.
We talk about the importance of the spine in RL regularly. On a related note, the Paki's spine is made of jelly.
