How many crowds over 20k have we had this year excluding Broncos and fake double header? How many under 10k?

So despite PR's rhetoric over 20ks and under 10ks are about on par

21 vs 23. And 5 of the sub 10k's were in QLD...
Hopefully we can get over 20K today at the Dogs v Tigers
Panthers play Eels next weekend
and hopefully we can hit 20K in the next few weeks if results go well, we've just made 18,000 members which is a huge jump from last year.

About the same as what you've added tbf
What the f**k do you add to anything?

You just make excuses, accept mediocrity and give up on ever achieving anything. Welcome to RL. The sport that expects nothing and gets it. The NRL doesn't have to do anything but sit back and let the shit continue because the culture of excuses and mediocrity lets them. 120 years of underachieving and people wonder why.

I love how you somehow blame a microchosm of people in one thread on one forum for the "NRL's attitude".

It's like everything's in black and white and unless the NRL do it perfectly, you're gonna sit there and lob smack from the cheap seats.

It's typical of the attitude of the whole sport. That's the point.

NRL is shit. Never mind. It's not their fault. Look at the bright side. It could be worse. Doesn't worry me. As long as it's on TV live. It's better than union (in Australia). Give them time. No one's perfect. The weather!

Yep that's how to do it. Excuses and no ambition. The attitude that gets things done. That's why RL is dominating the world.

I think we're going around in circles. You could spin anything into the worst negative imaginable and I prefer not to think the sky is falling.

Have fun.

You prefer to accept mediocrity.

I don't.

You prefer to see the game held back by inaction and excuses.

I don't.

You prefer to not hold incompetent administration to account.

I don't.

I think that sums it up.

Although I'm not one to believe the sky is falling there needs to be imminent change to how games are promoted as a must see event. Prices, specials and all that need to be reassessed, for instance I payed $30 to stand on the hill at Brookie last monday compared to $20 that I am paying to go to Penrith. The NRL and clubs needs to fix pricing for different games. Monday Nights and some interstate teams need to be priced what they're worth to encourage those on a budget to go. It's done in America I saw two games of basketball one was the Pelicans against the Bulls on a saturday costing around $40 and another on a Monday against the Jazz costing $10. That's only a start of what needs to happen to get more people through the gate.
Another idea would have been to give every fan who came to that Sunday Roosters V Tigers match a free ticket to any NRL game (in Sydney) of their choosing, reward loyalty and the like.
Anyway that's just a little rant Tiger is kind of right there needs to be more lateral thinking but of course the sky is not falling just yet. Crowds are still up on last year along with TV ratings.

You've made a broad range of assumptions. You've assumed I think everything's perfect and rosy as can be.

For the record:

I don't.

But I also don't see any sense in having a pointless dig at a Friday night crowd of 8,464 on a night of pouring rain between 14th and 15th.

One doesn't have to subscribe totally to a train of thought. I can see there are failures in the NRL and things, including poor attendances, that have to be dealt with. But I pick those battles when I see them. Last night wasn't one to pick.

This is far more constructive than the crap he was coming up with though. "There's always excuses" and attacking anyway who dares say the obvious reasons for certain things is about as far as it goes.

What you've said above is bang on though - things like cost of tickets still need to be looked at. The AFL had the right mix about a decade ago but have started slided in various ways themselves. No code is immune, either.

I am flying into Canberra on Monday and realised there is a game on v Cowboys. Just looking at going, ticket for a decent seat $38 but what is really swaying me is how easy it will be to get from hotel to game and back. At Moment it looks like only easy option is taxi which is showing $37 each way. $115 to a see a game missing the star players has me undecided if to go or just hang out in the hotel bar and watch it on tv.

Why not go in to the Canberra Raiders forum and say you're in town and if anyone is going, give you a lift?

I mean, LU is a community right?

You come to Sydney next time and want to catch a game, PM me.

Just buy GA PR, the stadium is very accessible that you can move around to a good viewing area. As for transport, maybe a bus or flag Blake Austin down :D. you should be able to pick up a ticket for $20-25 depending if you want to be a student or not .

Cheers Timmah, nothing wrong constructive criticism I too tire of the unnecessary pot shots on this thread.
