2016 Crowd Watch

Pretty disappointing crowd at Penrith. Was a real crunch game for them and being against a depleted Sharks outfit punters should have been buoyant. There was also a big contingent of travelling Sharks supporters buffering the numbers.

I reckon the crowd next Sunday will be big. Eels fans will wanna get out in force.

Raiders v Cowboys tonight? 8.5k.

Would it have got much more at Saturday 7:30 or Friday night?

That's a perfect game to give to Monday/Thursday. Even compared to the best of time slots, it is only going to lose a few thousand.

Even though I enjoyed the game have to say it really had a feeling of a second division event as far as sports entertainment goes. Little atmosphere, nothing going on pre game or half time, mostly empty stadium. It was barely a step up from watching my local amateur team (off the field that is).
We have a very very long way to go if we are ever going to get serious about attracting big crowds to NRL games. I thought it was about scheduling but tbh it goes much deeper than that.

Odd comment. Maybe it's because there's always a decent away contingent and scheduling is slightly better, but every time I've attended GIO Stadium it's been a fantastic atmosphere.

Bitch bitch .
I go to the footy to watch the footy .
Not to watch a third rate band sing .

Do they have bands singing between races when you choose to go watch cars instead of footy .

The game was very entertaining the experience not so. For the cost of getting to a game it needs to be both to attract more than just the die hards.

Re the races, no not at my local amateur races that are free to get in, but absolutely they create a great sports experience at Grand Prix and v8's which are professional events that are Expensive to attend.

At the end of the day fans are not going to games in any great numbers and my experience last night showed me why.

Platinum tickets in section 408 now selling for $50 to origin 3 haha

Haha Well done SLR. I'm not a huge fan of Level 4 at ANZ but they should be OK for this dead rubber. About the same as Level 6 at Suncorp.

I wonder how sales are going, had a few mates who picked up some pretty good $50 seats too.
