I am flying into Canberra on Monday and realised there is a game on v Cowboys. Just looking at going, ticket for a decent seat $38 but what is really swaying me is how easy it will be to get from hotel to game and back. At Moment it looks like only easy option is taxi which is showing $37 each way. $115 to a see a game missing the star players has me undecided if to go or just hang out in the hotel bar and watch it on tv.
All you ever do is knock Sydney and Canberra crowds.
"If I had a team nothing would stop me going"
"Excuses excuses"
"Bush league" etc etc
When people try and explain the challenges that stop them attending, you roll your eyes and refuse to accept them as true barriers that need addressing. Time slots. Weather. Origin affected. Prices. Traffic. Transport. TV. Competing events.
None of these are good enough for you.
Now this season the NRL brings a game to Perth, and you go to watch cars drive in a circle, and then you come to Canberra and won't go unless you get a $10 ticket to a corporate box with limosine transport included.
Canberra is a great little stadium but it's in the middle of the bush (literally. It is in bushland) with zero public transport. It will be freezing and yes no origin stars. There will still be 7,000-9,000 hearty souls there though.
Ps as already mentioned, buy GA and you can walk to sit almost wherever you want. And I'm pretty sure there are buses that will either take you direct to the ground or very close.
