6,308. Great crowd.

Its so painful seeing the NRL continue to fail, yet always making the same mistakes

All you can do is laugh (stops us going crazy)...

6,308.

Ouch.

Roosters average drops to 10,257 from that game. Two home games left - v Cowboys and Dragons, both Sundays 4pm.

That average has them last btw, around 900 below the next best - Canberra.

Probably not fair to the other teams... but the NRL really needs to throw some mktg dollars roosters way..

you simply cannot serve up prime time FTA games at allianz with crowds of 6k...

you must know you are going to be compared to Warratahs and Swans, the roosters wanted to be called Sydney... but do not want any of the responsibilities that goes with that title..

I reckon the 100 odd staff members at NRL Hq next door, all got up from their desks at 5.01pm, walked outside looked over to allianz, and said to themselves, screw that, ill go home..

Thursday's are an awful timeslot for crowds.

Not as bad as Monday, but still awful.

Even the two games Brisbane hosted on Thursdays failed to crack 30k. They average 34k.

There needs to be a serious look at scheduling IMO - Thursdays dont work year-round.

f**king oath there needs to be. It's not going to change in until the next round of negotiations but f**k. Thursday nights, Friday 6pm... Our priorities need to seriously be looked at. We're a sport, not a television show.

That's what happens when games are on Thursday which start close to 8pm...

If the game has to be on Thursday start it at 7pm

Who cares. Crowd attendances don't make money.

Just get over it you mob of douchebags

Rugby League the only sport in the world the is fine with empty seats and endless excuses for poor crowds in there heartland. No other heartland in world sport has the thousand of empty seats like in rugby league, if any other sport had the amount of empty seats rugby league has there be questions of it's popularity and existence in it's very own stronghold.

But since it's a 'TV' sport it's all excused away and seen as acceptable.

Crowds make more money than tv deals for clubs if you fill the stadium. Just our game is lazy and would rather take the easy money than work to be popular. First it was living off the teat of pokie machines, now it's tv and betting.

I was there, crowd was awful but I can't blame anyone for not going. Crap form and on a Thursday night. Brisbane are usually by far the best travelling contingent from outside of NSW and they were barely sighted yesterday as well.

Even given the ordinary form of both teams, the crowd literally doubles if it is a Friday night.

I agree with you. I said when it was mooted that Thursday night football was a dumb idea from a crowd perspective. Let's face it though, the NRL don't give a rats. As long as the TV companies fork over their money they would not care if it was an empty ground.

What they don't realise is the harm it does long term to the game, as you are hurting your hard core base with this stuff, and turning them into softer, stay at home, maybe watch, maybe not supporters.

Not to mention the perception of general public when you flicking channels. Anyone looking for something to watch would have thought it was reserve grade and kept flicking to a sport with atmosphere In the crowd. It turns away neutrals and new viewers to the game.

Maybe they could invest further in the graphic technology to digitally create the crowd?
