Surprised how cheap tickets were, $25-15 compared to raiders other week. Is that normal price or Monday night discount?

You made sure everyone knew that WSW did it first, that's for sure lol.

That's ok though isn't it? It was true. They did.
I saw better footage of the Raiders effort tonight. f**king sensational it was.
Much better than the old rugby league staple of *insert team* clap clap clap.
I hope it becomes a regular staple of the Raiders game day.

It was nothing like WSW's - WSW's is an in-game part of a chanting schedule. The Raiders were doing it for a world record type thing and actually took it from Iceland.

But keep pumping your little soccer team.

If Melbourne was truly the sporting capital, the Storm should be getting 20k crowds on the regular. To think during there salary cap cheating best, they didn't bring the crowds yet the Lions up here drew crowds and even overtook the Broncos when there were on top.

Passion for sport down there seems to be afl-centric only where in QLD despite being RL dominant, where there is a successful team the bandwagon is strong as shown in Reds/Lions.

Melbourne has a large armchair following down here. It's hard to draw numbers because we coincide with AFL games most the time. If it's not that, we are scheduled for Monday.

The storm are running with a "no AFL on. Come on down" style campaign for the next team home games so expect to see a spike in crowds.

Our memberships are climbing every year too so despite lowish crowds we definitely make a mark down here

It was interesting listening to the MMM post-game coverage last night and the commentators made multiple references to "how good the fans were for Souths" and "how great it was that they got 7,500" out to the game".

How is that a figure to be celebrated in any way, shape or form? It's an absolute disgrace, made even worse by the fact that both teams supporters could drive to the venue.

I was there last night. I'm so glad Mondays are going into the never again basket.
It's hard to get there on time. Bus left Sharks leagues at 5 on the dot. I was in my seat at 625.
All night, You've got one eye on getting home because it's work tomorrow.

And those saying the weather wasn't shit. Please. It was 11 degrees at kick off and steadily raining. I got soaked walking from the bus to the gate, even though my seats were undercover.

Monday nights= good f**ken riddance.

Looking at the last 2 rounds and we should get some decent crowds to finish off the regular season.

Bulldogs v Cowboys - Sell out at Belmore
Storm v Broncos - 20k
Titans v Panthers - 23k

Old Boys day in Newcastle, last match at Parra Stadium and Jamie Lyon farewells Brookvale as well this weekend.

Broncos v Roosters - Around 27k
Bulldogs v Rabbitohs - 20k
Storm v Sharks - 20k
Cowboys v Titans 20k

The Warriors could get decent crowds at both home games if they are still alive too.

This is a graph of the average crowd per game, accumulated over each season for the last 5 years. We are 0.7% up on last year and will likely beat it for the season. However, we are well short of previous years.

Consistently average best way of describing it.

Frank you must be soft, compared to the Monday night in Canberra the other week last night was pleasant! suggest you buy an umbrella, they are amazing inventions that will keep you dry between car/train and your covered seat!.

Yeh good riddance to Monday night, welcome 6pm Friday. how would you have gone if this had been 6pm Friday game?

We are going to do slightly better it seems, good ridance monday night but that is still awful from pride of the league. All year they've been crap, they luckily got to host easter otherwise they would be much lower. How did souths manage less than 20k to the game against their biggest rivals.

But whose fault is it? As fans we tend to blame other fans for not turning up but it is a short lived business that blames its customers for not buying its products.

Last night positives were ticket price cheap, train to ground made getting their easyish.

Everything else was pretty sht house. Terrible food at silly prices, no atmosphere, whole place felt like a shopping centre at closing time on a Sunday .
Was there any promotion to both sets of Fans encouraging attendance? NRL,scheduling destroyed much chance of a decent crowd, is there much hype about attending the NRL, are sports fans bought into the excitement of the game?

It all seems too hard for clubs and NRL and they appear to have pretty much given up on fans attending games.

I know it's not a new thing but this really puts into perspective how much of an impact origin has on the NRL. In general it shows a waning of interest as the season progresses. I'm not sure what the solution is but it's something the NRL needs to work on.
