Why don't NRL organise with sfs and anz free entry for anyone with a full membership to any NRL club? Stadiums would be happy to see bigger crowds and giving away free seats to NRL members would be a win win surely? Increases value add of a club membership, code doesn't look like it's got no fans and stadiums sell loads more hotdogs.

Thats a good idea Perth Red. It got talked about on League unlimited a few years ago around the time everybody was getting excited about membership growth and thought that would led to bigger crowds. Its the kind of thing a well run organisation would look at, but I doubt the NRL would look at it.

I think the NRL have missed a huge opportunity in the new stadium debate not to do something around this by taking control of a Friday night at sfs and Sunday afternoon at ANZ and scheduling big Sydney games, take responsibility for marketing and ticketing of these games, give the clubs involved a sack of money to compensate for moving games or handing over control of those games and aimed to avg 30k each game. They seem to want to impose control on the clubs without taking any control of the game.

There's around 120k kiwis live in Sydney. Warriors games played in Sydney should be full every weekend if they were being engaged.

Hopefully the weather doesnt ruin an expected big crowd at ahark park.

As i posted a few pages back. The marketing and engagement of the regular season is horrendus, they need to increase the promotion of key fixtures and market to particular demographics that are most likely to attend with deals/promotions. The quickest win they could have is to let kids U16 in for free with a paying adult to the sunday arvo match each round. Would be restricted to the major stadia due to capacity but this is a must to keep emgaging the youth in our core areas.

I hope they are not banking a build it and they will come mentality as that just won't work in Sydney regarding stadia.

14,406 in Cronulla.....

Surely an error?

Probably about right. Shark park crowds can be determined by how full family hill is generally. Looked like plenty of room there. The GA is normally filled by the walk ups whom the rain early May have put off.

Not a lot of Broncos although that's not an excuse I feel.

It's an above average crowd for the match up, which is the important thing when comparing year on year gains. But still a little disappointing considering the form going into it.

ground record is 23k at shark pk... where do the other 9 k sit ?

Pretty sure those old records were achieved by trying to fit 1000s of people in front of fire exits.

More Broncos fans than Penrith fans the week before.
As someone who has been at nearly all home games for a long time, I reckon there were a helluva lot of fudged crowd figures in the past.

There were fudged figures for sure.

I remember being at an 18,000 finals game against Canberra. Couldn't f**king move anywhere. No way 5000 more fitted anywhere.

Over saturation, and a code that still hasn't woken up to the value of attracting fans to games, plain and simple

they were talking up a sell out through the week. wonder what happened
I have honestly no idea what the real capacity is, and what the real record is because theres no effing way we got 22k to that venue.
so now that we aren't just picking the figures out of a hat....

Well with 33000 empty seats at sfs maybe give a few 4 for 4 free tix away as well

Who cares if you give them away ...

I'd nearly pay pricks to sit in the seats

It looks so shit to see 80% stadiums empty

year after year you're in here whinging about crowds yet you never go to any games
