Maybe. 1st game back at Jubilee Oval against what is traditionally a tough rivalry might grab a few, agree Thursday kills everything tho

Panthers game will get a fair bit, in Wellington against NZ who just came off a decent win might draw a few

Christchurch actually
My bad ..
Maybe it will get 16K

Rugby League in crisis!
Warwick Hadfield, the sports commentator on Radio National breakfast (yeah I know) announced the end of Rugby League because less people went to the Swans than the test. I guess the big question is how many people went to the AFL test?

Last week he stated that Gws will need a larger stadium soon.

The segment that he and Fran Kelly is a microcosm of the nature of ABC reporting on Rugby League these days - sneering and elevated. It matches their Liberal-aligned political coverage perfectly.

Who is Warwick Hadfield by the way? I mean who the f**k is he?

I think local ABC gives Labor and RL a fair go but you're right about RN and particularly breakfast.

Also gordan tallis on monday night with matty johns said they were putting extra 2000 seats or making them available as they are expecting a massive crowd. He mentioned 57k. Not sure how true that it though.

A sell out in christchurch would be a great result. Warriors are struggling and will get no away fans, anything close to 18K would be fantastic. More reason we need another NZ team.

57k?

In Christchurch?

The capacity of the ground is 18k.

Maybe talking about Suncorp though I didn't think that was actually possible.

Only as good as your last game  there was 20,000 a few years ago on a wet and very dreary day against the chooks. There are only single tickets available in the two main stands as well.

No Tallis was referring to the double header at Suncorp. He mentioned 57k last night.

He's had too many beers me thinks. Suncorp can only hold 52,500 + standing room which they cap at 500 - 750 tickets, which I believe depends on how many disabled seats have been sold.

57,000 at Suncorp is completely impossible, just could not happen haha.
