But but suburband grounds r da best cause they have a hill. Anyone who likes suburban grounds has no idea and should reconsider their pathetic existence.

As a knights fan how do you feel about hunter stadium? Personally I love that we still have a mix of stands and the hill. I know they're slowly going the way of the dodo and I've argued about the drawback of suburban grounds but I think in the case of Newcastle it's a decent balance.

Anybody that thinks the crowd for tonight's game would be any bigger in a centralised modern stadium has absolutely no idea about how the Sydney sporting public.

It is not a case of " if you build it they will come "

The reason for poor rugby league crowds is much deeper than teams playing in suburban stadiums, Kogarah is actually a pretty good stadium.

I actually think a lot of local St George fans have been let down by the club playing so few games at their spiritual home and with the demographic of the local area changing St George are not as relevant as they once were in the area.

I think they would be more successful playing the majority of home games in Wollongong if the club actually did enough to make the south coast people feel like it was their team, which at the moment I don't think they do feel that way.

Would also mean one less team in Sydney.

I agree that the Dragons should be more or less set up in the Gong with 3-4 games a year in sydney, including 2-3 at Kogorah. It should be used sparingly like belmore to give the games there value

For me and my mates, it has to become a routine. Basically every second week "what time is the game this weekend?" not get to round 10 and go "oh shit, we have our first home game thursday night"

I think it's at the point where anything over 9k on a Thursday or Monday night is seen as OK.
Sad but that's what you get for selling your soul to TV.

Last night was a case of better at University of Wollongong Australia Kogarah Jubilee Oval, Carlton South than at the Olympic Stadium. Canberra don't draw and it was fun to be there.

I get that it's hallowed ground and it's great to go there every so often but it really is only marginally better than Brookie or Leichhardt.

I'd say an appropriate split between grounds would be Wollongong 8, new ANZ 2, Kogarah 2 using Allianz while ANZ is being redone.

Had there been 1-2000 more people there last night everyone on here would be saying "great atmosphere" "Awesome night at Kogarah"..I went and it was bloody freezing..So 10,000 wasn't to bad considering we played out of Sydney team on a Thursday night..

Danergous Dave you are dead set kidding saying only 2 games at Kogarah!! Wait until round 23 when we play the Sharks at Kogarah..I can hear All you wingers saying "Great atmosphere at Kogarah" "It looks great when full".

Yes, it looks great when full. Should always play the sharks there. What's your point?

Yesterday was dire. Awful atmosphere. Dragonarmy was about 12 strong and couldn't be heard. Clear, still night and was still 16c after the game so no weather excuses. All in all , not a very inspiring event. Against the Sharks on a sunny Sunday arvo is another story completely.

Split of venues aside, Thursday sucks.
