Tickets prices for roosters v bunnies are a disgrace. $34 for general admission adult pre sale plus a $6.50 surcharge, at a guess at the gate GA will be $40. Great way to encourage folks to get to the game

I intended on going as one of my few matches this season but they can get stuffed now

Canberra $20 pre sale, the rest are a disgrace. A record low round 1 would not surprise me

Some ticket prices are crazy, manly is $66+$5.65 for best seats at brookvale ! Interestingly Ticketmaster charges different handling fees for different clubs.

Ticket fees will forever be the issue. Clubs can set what they see to be fair prices but then the ticket agent (TM or TKTK) will add that 5-6 bucks and it becomes untenable. The key is if you're going in a group to buy all together as you normally only get slugged with one handling fee, from memory.

Be interesting to see how many would go to the games if the NRL cut the price by 50%

Some sort of central ticketing policy is a must imo. With its new found riches the nrl needs to be subsidising ticket prices like the afl does and also putting a limit on how high categories like general admission can be set at.

With demand so far from meeting supply of seats you would think that would dictate prices be lowered anyway in order to get fans through the gate.

I really think the fans nedd an organised voice over this issue and others, i.e. a supoorters association.

The AFL wised up to this with cheap kids tickets several years ago now (that said, it hasn't stopped flagging attendances in Victoria). Hopefully the NRL do the same... although they aren't as lucky having two centralised venues.

Seriously tickets are dirt cheap anyway. I don't understand why people consider them to be high, what are you comparing them to? It's not much more expensive to go to a game than it is the cinema.

Not sure what cinema you go to but my local is a hoyts for $14-19 depending on the screen. That cannot be compared to $35 for the cheapest category at allianz in rd1.

Those predictions look pretty spot on Timmah. Would like to see the Cowboys gain significant growth in their crowd average this year, 20,000+ should be achievable.

Roosters/Bunnies will be dependent on how much they play up Burgess factor, 28k would be good.

No way the Raiders will get 14K to a 3pm.Saturday game v Penrith.
10K would be a good result.
Same for the Titans ...10k.
There's no reason Townsville shouldn't be at capacity except poor weather.

All based on fine weather.

Para v Broncos.. 18500
Manly v Bulldogs 16500
Raiders v Penrith 10500
Tigers v Warriors 12500
Cowboys v Sharks 25000
Roosters v South's 30000
Titans v Newc 10500
Storm v Dragons 14500

It's Round 1 - I'm giving most clubs a bit of credit for drawing in extra fans. That and Penrith are probably one of Canberra's better drawing away support opponents I would think, along with Saints, Canterbury and given proximity, Tigers

The crowds for daytime games can fluctuate greatly depending on weather conditions.
Anytime it is over 30 crowds will drop off.

Not sure what cinema you go to but my local is a hoyts for $14-19 depending on the screen. That cannot be compared to $35 for the cheapest category at allianz in rd1.

And the cinema doesn't charge $34 to stand in the carpark and watch the film or $66 to seat in a seat with a decent view of the screen and a roof over your head!

for $40 I can go in gold class with reclining seats and a waiter!

SAT 5:30 / W. Tigers v Warriors @ Ctown - 13K - 9K

Wouldn't surprise me if I'm way out with all of the above.

I've been playing this game too long. My unapologestically unoptimistic crowd predictions bolded next to Timmahs. I'm predicting 23K less total attendance.
