Stating the obvious I know, but clearly Manly want the $3million.
Taking the logo off would damage any claims they have to the money.
This will end with an out of court settlement I'd imagine

Coco Joy actually think being on the jersey for free is damaging their brand...

Cant believe these clubs are so dumb to fall for these fly by night sponsors, who know they only have to get 6 month brand exposure for their job to be done...

They sign up for 3 years, stop payments after 6 months, and manly can't re posses the intangible

So I don't know what was happening with the Sharks alternate jerseys last night, but players had different sleeves (some blue and some black).

IIRC thats years alternative was that same except with black sleeve. Maybe they ran out of this years batch and reused a few old ones

(happens all the time in Reserves, but it would be pretty amateur if it actually happened in First Grade...)

Yeh, thats my read into it...

I reckon Coco wanted to antagonise Manly into covering up the logo, then using that as evidence of Manly breaking the contract.

If the company isnt insolvent, there will need to be a settlement at the least...

McFadden not only had major sponsorship of the raiders in 1990 but naming rights sponsorship of Canberra Stadium so remained in the printed draw for the whole season even after being removed from the jerseys.

Is this the one you're talking about?

Wigan are letting fans vote on next year's home jersey

Fans can go in to the retail store to vote (smart...likely to buy something while they're there!)

Does that Wigan jersey have less sponsors on it than normal or am I just getting used to the NRL ones have sponsorship all over the jersey, front, sleeves, between the badges on the front, 2 on the back etc

That's about right for Wigan. The Warriors and Warrington still only have sponsors on front, sleeve and back. Far better than some SL clubs which then also have chest or neck sponsors.
