Happy for Wighton and Canberra, but with the Ennis decision, that has pretty much got to mean NO ONE ever gets successfully cited/suspended for a shoulder charge ever again.

That's what they were saying on NRL360 earlier. As long as you go in with your elbow away from your body then you're good to go.

While I think Ennis should have been charged, you really can't defend Wighton's one. Stupid, dumb, idiotic thing to do and deserves a spell.

Ennis should be facing suspension - the inconsistency is certainly alarming, but that still isn't an excuse for Wighton to walk free.

:):):) Some of your best, timtam

I'm glad he got off but it's amateur hour in the NRL at the moment.

They knew they couldn't suspend Wighton after letting off Ennis and had to buckle to the pressure.

Its clear that by the nrls rules its not a shoulder charge. If they had charged him with a grade one dangerous contact id have not complained.

Edit

Id have complained tbh but id have known it was fair.

The NRL's f**ked up interpretation of a shoulder charge is the real loser in all of this. Hopefully the rule is pissed off altogether now as there is an easy out for anyone who wants to shoulder charge.

Bring back shoulder charge with severe punishment for contact with the head
