Does anyone actually think picking players like Townsend is going to do anything to change momentum in favour of NSW? Or that waiting for Cronk, Smith and JT to retire is the time when NSW turns it around?

Milford and DCE can't even get a run in the Queensland side, let alone Munster, Holmes, Mbye, Napa and the rest.

Gillett, McGuire, GI et al aren't retiring soon either.

For mine Graham, Cartwright and Tedesco are the 3 who need to be blooded. Tamou for me needs to be dropped badly. Gallen has his faults but it would be cruel to deny him one last origin in NSW. I would like to see Tedesco at full back so maybe Bird to the centres and Moylan off the bench as I believe he is a long term five eight.

Jennings wayward pass led to the first try, which completely turned the game on its head. He also went missing in defence (again) for Gagai's second try.

He had a Barry Crocker, to be nice about it.

And what did Walker do on the other side?
NSW had any number of impatient errors, to single out Jennings when plenty of others had clangers is silly.

But keep the revolving door of players up, Qld will keep on winning because of it.

The coach that has the guts to drop Gallen would also have the stones to clean out the rest of the deadwood in the side and make the right decisions.

Gallen is a complete dud at origin level. His 4th tackle settlers after we get a roll on and getting into 1st receiver when we get inside the 20 murders so many opportunities for us, it's criminal.

Thing is when Gallen does these things he also gets to add another run and 8-10 cheap (but pointless) metres to his stats, so after the game people who get all their footy analysis from SuperCoach scores think he had a good game. Farah does the same thing with rudderless dummy half runs and stupid early tackle count kicks

This.

Best comment of the night.

Last Gagai try was a knock on for all money.

Smiths hold down with 5 to go is a penalty and a sin bin on any other player in any other code in any other sport.

Why watch?

Qld won fair amd square and are a great team.

But how on Earth did Smith not get binned?

That was as text book a professional foul as you will see.

The ref was a scared bitch and should be raked over the coals for that.

I love this old chestnut, one of the funniest myths ive seen. Poor old qld had to make do with the gun side they had left, including the qlderp 'GOAT' Thurston. Yet were beaten by the might of Hodkinson and Reynolds in the halves

Lol as soon as Cronk left the field NSW came in to the series. When Cronk was on the field NSW had nothing.

Even when NSW were going well in this game you had Farah running from dummy half 1-2 times per set and Gallen dying with it once per set. All of which overlooked the halves.

If a player does that when JT is barking for the ball he gets right up them. I can't tell if Maloney or Reynolds are screaming for the ball but if guys like Farah are doing their own thing when that happens then they should be right up him too.

I thought the Gagai grounding looked very dubious. You can bet your life if it was a club game, we would be looking at replays for 10 minutes with end result being a no try due to the separation rule. Similarly, with the Cameron Smith hold down, Brad Fittler made the smartest comment of his life when he mentioned in the call that only certain players who have been for a certain number of years are allowed to control the ruck.

Jennings clangers led directly to points and lack there of. Walker made some errors but only 1 try was scored down his side and that was due to a great play by Queensland.

Wait what? Walker didnt do all that much but I can tell you what he didn't do?

1) gift Qld an intercept try
2) knock on what could have been the matchwinner
3) rush out of the line and tackle thin air....gifting qld an overlap and try.

Jennings had a shocker.... the defeat isn't on him alone but he definitely contributed in a major way.

That is proof of how piss weak these refs are. Even at origin level, it is the definition of a professional foul.

I have seen trys like that called both ways.

Fair point but i dont think you can blame him for 2.
What was he supposed to do, pull his hand back?
