Faulkner gets destroyed by kleenex, yet again. 20 off 2, our batsmen at least 20 short here and its ended our tournament after they also shat the bed in that nz chase.

agree with everyones comments

We were about 20-25 runs short. After the power play we scored 55 runs in 9 overs and I think lost 3 wickets in this time, unacceptable in this format the game, contributed to our loss.

Very puzzling why Smith didn't at least bowl another over with Zampa. He bowled 2 overs for 11 runs and one of those scoring shots was a 6. He seemed the most likely to contain them (and Watson - who bowled his 4 overs) from what I had seen.

Faulkner was disappointing with bat (10 runs of 10 balls) and ball went for over 11 an over

Whatever we think of Kholi, the guy delivered one of the best t20 knocks I have seen. Calculated, elegant, brutal towards the end. Faultless knock. Inida were 3 for 49 in the 8th over, he saved their asses big time. Maxwell should really learn from this bloke, not one bullshit shot in his innings yet he got over half of Inidas total at over 160 S/R

vvv must be really proud Dhoni hit the winning runs :p

Oh well

NZ v Poms
WI v India

NZ the only nation from the remaining 4 not to win a t20 world cup

There is always Gayle. He might get a 80-100 score. Windies are a more than fair bowling unit with 2 smart spinners and the very clever death bowling of DJ Bravo; but despite all those famous seam bowler allrounders that should be strengthening the batting lower down the scorecard - their batting overall is poor. They sorely miss Pollard as he is the best bat of their seam bowling allrounders. Darren Sammy has bowled 2 overs all tournament, and basically played as a specialist batsman at 8. Still - Pandya may be stupid enough to bowl into Braithwaite or Russell's swinging arc.

Bet Mitchell Johnson feels pretty stupid right about now.

Also what's the go with Davey in the middle order? Think his numbers showed he is an opener and needs the hard ball and fielding restrictions to build scores and confidence, should have swapped him and khawaja for the whole tournament

Kohli played a blinder. Probably the only way we were gonna get him out was an Erasmus howler..

Anyway, go kiwis.

Waston played his ass off

Kohli carrying an entire team of flat track bullies & plod
Hate the guy but really admire his skill, no switch hits and crap just pure batting

No likeable teams left to cheer for
England are still in :D

All in all i think that's a good T20 tournament from Australia.

2 wins in the group stage is above and beyond expectations. Both Australia and Afghanistan should be proud of their efforts

Couldn't resist....

So the Cricket Australia website names their XI of the tournament, and names Dhoni as the captain.
Based on: hitting the winning runs, an epic 13 off 12, and of course that run out (which was his only tournament contribution imo).

"His captaincy has again been exemplary"

They got owned by two teams before one of them gifted the win back, and Kohli single handedly won them the other two. His captaincy has literally served them nothing.

I just don't get it.
