.What is the path to first grade?

I'd have a rookie draft from NSW & Qld cup in to the NRL. Players are eligible to enter the draft the year they turn 20. That would make the independent NSW & Qld cup even more intriguing to fans and valuable to TV networks.

While that competition is in its early years I would also haver it funded by the NRL in particular from the second tier salary cap that is currently given to NRL clubs.

Not to mention, saying something verbally means nothing, players change their minds like they change socks.

Jim Tamou played for NZ Maori for example, and only decided to play for Australia after Stinky convinced him that he would be a NSW prop (regardless of form) for the next decade.

Apparently he won the NZ U/13's golf championship in 2010.

Did find this from last year about his choice though.

Ponga has been picked for junior Tests by both New Zealand and Australia, with the battle for his allegiance getting so hot he decided not to represent either until his mind was made up.

That could be JT playing around but that's the last time i saw it reported. Nothing from the kid himself.

I just liked that he decided not to play junior reps until he makes up his mind.

The NRL threatened the Bulldogs with no appearance fee last night if they didn't play Klemmer and Reynolds today. Subsequently both have been named in our side vs Cronulla at 8:35am.
