I'll start this post by saying I think the Nrl do care about crowds but with all the spot fires popping up, the crowd issue would probably be number 53 on the list of things to do.
Now I'm sure some on here feel it should be more of a priority and that's fair enough. It's not a great look when 10k turn up to a 83k stadium.
The Nrl has finally got the nsw/qld governement to promise to upgrade their major stadiums, which is great. Though, the Nrl needs to win the management/catering rights to at least Anz stadium. By using current low crowds numbers as well as negotiating beneficial club anz stadium deals it will benefit the clubs who play there once crowds increase. Once that is sorted, lower the tickets prices to $10 adults $5 kids for a year or longer and dramatically increase the crowds. The money back in food and drinks offsets the price of the tickets. The Nrl covers there management/catering costs and the rest goes to clubs to improve there membership offerings.
Let's hope that,
the Rlpa and salary cap can be sorted soon,
the clubs can act like adults and the arlc constitution can be kept independent,
Drugs testing issue gets sorted,
The 2 clubs can be sold off.
Grassroots can be developed and funded correctly,
Media department established and working efficiently
Expansion gets a look in.
Scheduling of nrl games gets better
International rugby league game gets bigger and better
And CROWDS increase!!
