If you think struggling to sell this game out a day before is something to be excited about, given how much attention it has been getting and taking away from every other part of the game, it's little wonder you are one of the last remaining members of the circle. No game has ever been hyped as much as this. Only a few years ago it would have sold out in an hour.
From a business standpoint selling out an event super early means that the tickets are potentially undervalued. Ideally organisers would like these types of events to be selling out close to the event but not to a point where tickets become discounted at the last minute. Ticket pricing is a delicate balance and seems to have caused some frustration for this game. Still a sell out is a sell out and the demand has met the supply at the price point allocated.

And most events aren't reliant on having a decider. The NRL is bloody "lucky" they managed to get one. They'd have been giving them away by the thousands, and probably have done anyway.

I would only assume that the pricing point would be vastly different if it was a dead rubber. A tied series makes this a premium event and it appears to have been priced accordingly.

That is indeed lucky for the NRL HQ then. Sounds strange that the event is priced before a demand level is ascertained as surely a dead rubber and live decider are poles apart.

The concept of supply in demand has absolutely no meaning to the NRL and its clubs.
Evidence: pricing for Thursday nights at ANZ/SFS vs 10s of thousands of empty seats

Struggling is in the eyes the beholder.Considering the exorbitant prices ,it is now also sold standing room.People have only so much spare cash these days.
Remaining member of a circle LOL , you do fantasise melad. You are still sucking those bitter lemons.
Not that long ago you couldn't fill the SFS for a SOO,even with Wally playing.
TBH I have my limits as to how much I'd pay.
No game has ever been hyped as much.
I call BS to that in Sydney in the past not all the time, with all the marketing, when Jack Gibson was around and the game held at ANZ.The days of Wally,Alfie,Geno was a promoters dream.Bloody ads on ch9 with Sterlo et al.

When Wally was around origin was not the pinnacle of the game because test football was. We now have an admin who treat test football with contempt. In fact they have wiped it from the season proper entirely. Basically they've f**ked the highest level of the sport, are failing at club level and the circle is getting extra hard over the only thing they have left. And even then a dead rubber would have seen tickets thrown around like confetti.

I think most tickets that were actually available in the original lot were all sold out. I had mates at work who tried last week to buy some but there was only single tickets here and there available. It was only yesterday when they released a heap that there was a decent quantity available for different sized groups. Also i think the standing tickets sold out pretty early as well.

I think its done alright overall, the public cant buy tickets that never existed, f**k knows where this last batch came from yesterday, stadium/corporate members??

just set fair prices.. release as many as you can and sell them..

Why complicate it with surge pricing, so you can stitch up a couple of thousand people for a few dollars more... the gate isnt where the money is NRL..

The high start price,, then the fire sale is embarrassing and probably grosses the same cash $$

The poor crowds for the SFS SOO and also for the test series was a one off I believe due to high prices in 1988.

Friday 6pm game at SFS roosters v Knights
family tickets range
From $88 to $164!!!
Adult $34GA to $65 cat 1
Child (4-12h) is $20 Ga to $34 cat 1.

This doesn't include transport, parking, food or drinks. Absurd pricing, shouldn't be more than $20adult and kids free.

By memory it was $32 for deluxe seat. I can
Remember my old man blowing up about the prices. I can also remember him having a go at the attendant at
Leichhardt when they raised the pricE on the hill from $6 to $8!

Tossers knows why it didn't sell out quick enough

the professor

You know what NRL needs, right now.. another show that sole aim is to take the piss, out of the game and make it look like a laughing stock..

Match fixing, drugs, etc are all black eyes for the game, laughing about it a week after it happens and begging for more scandal, is pretty f**ked up..

I cant imagine another sport where you would see a show like professor 2nd year synderome.

All good to not take yourself seriously, but shows like this are the reason people are actually reluctant to say they are NRL fans..
