Well if that's the case why play the thing at the SCG? Just play it at Redfern Oval. Lower hire costs.

SCG would be one of the worst grounds to watch league at to boot, people went there because there was nothing else.

It brings no nostalgia back, especially when there were never any 6pm Friday night games in retro time either.

Again, in terms of atmosphere and TV "look", is 7k better at Brookie, Belmore, etc, or ANZ ?

This is assuming the same crowd would have turned up to each stadium....

Pissing rain at ANZ (decent transport, parking, covered seats) compared to suburban street parking, no trains and muddy hils to sit on.

Id assume 10k at ANZ in this weather would have gotten 3-4k at Brooky or Belmore

People who work odd days like to set up annual leave well in advance so they can attend.
Personally id like all rounds announced at the same time by the NRL where Fox/nine has no say and whatever matches we get, we get.

Do you understand what percentages mean?

Once again, there you go pandering to three people and ignoring 30,000
As a percentage of the Rugby League viewing population how many people work shifts which include them working when night games are being played who would have gone to the game and now can't?

Verses the number of people who can't be arsed watching a game because Prime time has been sucked up by two teams who are utterly f**king gash and about as entertaining to watch as slitting your f**king wrists.

If the people working those odd days are so f**king desperate to get to a game, they'll book annual leave 6 months in advance or swap shifts with someone who doesn't give a f**k about going to the game

That sort of thinking has f**ked Rugby League up the arse. STOP IT

Souths v St George - HERITAGE ROUND

Using words of one syllable please explain to me what is HERITAGE about 6pm on a FRIDAY?

This game should be a Saturday or Sunday afternoon
The SFS is a crap ground to watch footy at. Give the fans an excuse to go, not 500 excuses to steer well bloody clear

This is embarrassing - it's like watching the Roosters reserve grade playing Mounties - if there are more than a thousand people there, I'll be amazed

NRL you are merkins

Can whinge about shitty scheduling all we like, the clubs need to take more responsibility to sell their own games, most Sydney clubs just don't bother to do anything, either through apathy or lack of resources, and then on top of that they deny free publicity with draconian media access. And when the inevitable happens and they can't draw more than 10k between them they point the finger at the NRL & escape all responsibility. The game suffers for a toxic Sydney culture of myopia and political self-interest.
