2 absolute potential blockbusters and the NRL have allowed tv networks and scheduling to fail the fans.
I just don't understand why this sport continues to shoot itself in the foot.
Greenburg, the Bearded one and the Commission are a complete f**king joke.

How about make Bulldogs/Eels Rabbitohs/Dragons a double header on a Sunday afternoon at the SCG.
Sold Out signs would be up. Wouldn't even need promotion.

f**k these guys are dumb.

Can whinge about shitty scheduling all we like, the clubs need to take more responsibility to sell their own games, most Sydney clubs just don't bother to do anything, either through apathy or lack of resources, and then on top of that they deny free publicity with draconian media access. And when the inevitable happens and they can't draw more than 10k between them they point the finger at the NRL & escape all responsibility. The game suffers for a toxic Sydney culture of myopia and political self-interest.
Some good points, but, f*ck off, the ARLC can't see past the dollars they can squander.

if they are so desperate for these timeslots to remain than, next year the dimwits at NRL headquarters need to handpick every game
this week my schedule would have been

Thurs Sea Eagles vs Roosters = 10000 (12000) - 2000
Fri 6 pm Knights vs Warriors =16000 (16000) 0
Fri 8 Broncos Titans = 23000 (20000) +3000
Sat 2pm Sharks vs Raiders = 15000 (15000) 0
Sat 5pm Dogs vs Parra =30000 (12000) +18000
Sat 7 Cowboys vs Storm = 21000 (21000) 0
Sun 2 Bunnies vs Dragons =25000 (12000) +13000
Sun 4 Panthers vs Tigers = 15000 (15000) 0

I know these are not accurate and just estimates but this sort of draw would enable at least and additional 30000 people through the gates which bumps up our average by 2500 per match

To schedule oue two big games on the worst timeslots just show how out of touch the NRL really is

Sat 2pm Sharks vs Raiders = 15000 (15000) 0 (too early for super sat to start)
Sat 5pm Dogs vs Parra =30000 (12000) +18000 ( Not a bad pick )
Sat 7 Cowboys vs Storm = 21000 (21000) 0 (Ch 9 FTA game no NSW team)

Huge 21,830 crowd at @1300SMILESS

Great crowd yet broncos game would be on a Thursday of all days the highest drawing home game on a Thursday. The nrl aimed to average 20k yet accept thursday and friday 6pm as apart of the tv deal contradicting there very own goals with anti crowd timeslot.

probably wouldn't have been far off if the NRL were able to select games , which they can't in 2017
but can in 2018
so a round like this one will... hopefully.. be far better organised then it is in 2017
of course , they can't control the weather & Thursday nights 12K may well have been 15K in dry conditions , but still , if there was ever a round showing how desperately we need the governing body to decide who plays when , its this one.
