You don't get home preliminary finals.

You get home region. Rules are clear on it. NRL can play any Sydney game in the finals at either ANZ or Allianz.
The only reason they call it home region is to exclude venues such as Newcastle, Gold Coast, Canberra etc.

For the purposes of Sydney "Home finals/home regions" there is no difference between week 1, 2 and 3 of the finals as per the link you provided. For the purposes of home region, it is regarding the Roosters and there is nowhere where it states Allianz will not be used due to venue size.

The Roosters vs Team B for Sat 24 Sept has been removed from ticketek website. It did say Allianz as the stadium when it was listed

Hmmm probably saying something then

They've probably seen the crowd tonight and thought ANZ would be the better choice if they win...which is a no brainer really

Point is the NRL can play the game anywhere they want.

That Allianz is the roosters home ground is a coincidence, nothing more.

The most appropriate venue should be used.

Roosters v Cowboys - Allianz

Roosters v Eels - ANZ.

thats not your argument
you're saying, or were they're the .. home team, the Roosters & so it should be at their home ground
that term doesn't exist for Sydney sides . & there are no home grounds

no one said Allianz can't be used
we're saying it shouldn't due to the fact ANZ with Parramatta involved , would draw a far
far bigger crowd
up to 50% more
playing at Allianz makes no sense

Precedent tells us otherwise. Roosters have hosted many matches in the finals vs teams like Souths, Bulldogs etc where the crowd would have been bigger at ANZ but they put it at Allianz due to being the higher ranked team.

The NRL could do it, but I don't think they will.

If they do move it to ANZ we would have the advantage we earnt in week 1 taken away from us in favour of Parramatta who lost in week 1 but whatever.... money talks.

On a side note, you are probably locking 10k plus out by having a storm prelim at AAMI and not etihad...

The home region grounds are Allianz or ANZ as per the NRL rules. There is no reference to how which venue is selected apart from the Roosters team being the team referenced as the home team. Since Allianz is available that would be my assumption based on precedence.

Precendece? Like when the roosters played cowboys at ANZ in 2004 in the preliminary?

Which games are you referring to btw?

Only roosters vs Souths finals match in recent times was 2014, at ANZ.

Can't play it at Allianz because Allianz is a death trap. Gus, the Parrot and Stuart Ayres said so.

Sorry but fans don't want to die. ANZ it must be if the Eels make it.

Good point about Melbourne. I think they might move that one to Etihad?

Prelim final, Cronks last home game, Brisbane...I think they could sell it out

Can you cite the years of these precendces?
