I signed up to this forum to read peoples thoughts and opinions on rugby league but all you f***wits ever talk about is AFL.

It sucks that we can't sell out our grand final but I have my ticket and will be enjoying the contest for what it is.
Wow a real rugby league supporter. glad there is another one around.

News Ltd = lying scum.
No sources or evidence to prove crowds were anything but what was posted
Read as read , that the crowds were legit

I haven't purchased a news ltd publication in 10 years
It pains me that I contribute to their bottom line through my foxtel subscription
the day there is a viable alternative is the day these fake news advocates will no longer get another cent of my hard earned off me.

Looks like its getting close to full, my brother had a crack at getting tickets for him and a couple of mates and only Platinum or Diamond available if you want more than 1 seat. Still it shows how over priced it is when the best seats in the house are still available.

With the WC on 7 and NRL free on my phone, I'm ringing them up on Tuesday to turn my Foxtel off. Can't wait.

For non sport entertainment Netflix is now light years ahead of Foxtel anyway and in HD at a fraction of the cost.

So with Netflix, how do you watch all your sport?
Do you still have Foxtel?

No i get enough NRL on free to air and I have EPL free with optus. I miss the super league and get some games online but I just can’t justify the cost of Foxtel for that and Souths two no free to air none Sydney games.

Ok.
I understand your first bit, but geez, your second half of the answer sounds very Friday night "after a few beers".

I mostly agree with the latter - I attend neutral games often, especially big ones. But GFs are quite simply priced out of range for this to be feasible. I don't blame people for selling off tickets.
I've been to 2 Roosters GFs and sat behind the posts both times, and 1 neutral because I'm close to a few Sharks fans and their first premiership was something I always wanted to see.

The price of a barely passable seat is minimum $200 these days. I won't sit behind the posts with an awful view now that I can afford not to. My money is going to travelling for the World cup.

And on a side note, the Grand Final day BBQ as a neutral is simply too good to pass up. 3 games of consecutive footy, 4 if you throw the Super League in, a backyard pissup with good beer and nice steaks.

Says the guy who doesn't think twice about going on 3 $10k international holidays a year. But can't afford a $100 footy ticket. Turn it up.

Did those same supporters come to Sydney when Melbourne played at Shark Park in round 14? (amazingly, that's the last time Melbourne played a game in Sydney. Only playing 4 all year)

Before you big up Storm fans, look up the distance from NQ to Sydney.

Melbourne to Sydney is a drive down the shops to pick up some Winnie Blues in comparison.

Being from Sydney I cannot comment on what happens in Qld. I think it is pretty obvious Giants crowds down here are exaggerated. This is often hinted at in match reports threat appears in the press. It could be that no one really cares that the AFL does this. This lack of caring may reveal a lack of real interest by people in the game here.
Arrived in the beautiful harbour city yesterday. Cannot wait for tomorrows game.

If you like races their is free entry for you with your grandfinal ticket. Shame the NRL hasnt put some sort of promotion on at the track. Once again a lack of proactive marketing and publicity from the NRL. If their is something on at Randwick races like Gf related banners, footy related theme race name etc? Im happy to be proved wrong.

Cheers for the tip mate. Every year there seems to be something on at Randwick when I come down for GF’s (this is my 6th in the last 12 years) that gives you free entry with your GF ticket, so the promo has been around for a while. I have my 20 year high school reunion on tonight down here so best I avoid Randwick at all costs as I dont think I could handle races, reunion and a GF all in 2 days....

Your welcome. On the races? Just wonder if the NRl anything publicity wise ar Randwick? Would be something worth doing i suggest. After all it is grand final week.

The Gf should be moved , every year the Nrl give thousands of tickets away regardless of who plays. Yet in the Afl people are willing to pay thousands for a ticket...
Syd people just don't rate live footy and I can't understand why ?
