It's a pretty fair effort for a league supporter to fly to the other side of the country to watch an NRL GF with no attachment to either team.

Their are issues. Just hope the commentators mention the world cup a few times. The game will be able to bounce well off a successful world cup. The publicity is gold! Especially on grand final night.

Pretty sure an odd mention would not hurt? Its called promoting for the benefit of the game/code. Mentions like 'this player is a chance to get selected for his country for the upcoming world cup" will not hurt the coverage. It will add to the coverage. Ive seen it happen before for similar rep tournaments like Kangaroo tours.
