The clubs should go back to suburban grounds if only for the reason that 15k in ANZ stadium looks like a joke.
"We should go back to smaller crowds because the bigger crowds in a super stadium look bad"

another good effort from the Raiders
another below par effort by the Sharks

not sure whats going on up there in the shire
The Hapless Dragons did a whole lot better under the circumstances last week in the same time slot.

You're an OP class dope. It's been p*ssing down all day on Sunday stopped for an hour prior to the game, still with darks clouds hovering around during play and a light shower during play.If you bothered to check the scene, only a few vacant spots on the hill. There were SFA Dragon's fans there by comparison.which is not normally the case.

This coming from Raider Dave as soon as there is cold weather or rain, you can fire a shot at Bruce and not hit anyone.Bruce with far more seating BTW.

Raiderdave logic:

14.6k at Sunday 4PM with good weather - good crowd
14.2k at Sunday 6:30PM with crap weather - shit crowd

You are trying too hard with your trolling at this point.

Storm midweek game best crowd of the round? Huh. Ten pages ago it was "disappointing" we only had 16k there...

The Sttorm have shown what can be done. The Rebels if they get the flick, should help the Storm further or maybe just a little.

It's so short sighted for the NRL to rely solely on TV.

If people stop going to games they become less interested overall and lack of crowd numbers affects the product shown on television.

The game lacks atmosphere and just becomes less interesting to everyone and you go down a slippery slope and end up being as relevant as rugby union.

Its a ridiculous approach, 10k extra watching on TV makes very little difference to the value of the TV contract. 10k extra through the gate makes a world of difference to a clubs bottom line.

Our only hope now is control of the fixtures next season and playing the biggest drawing games in the best spots, though that will probably mean even more 10k and below games in the crap slots.
Hopefully the new western Sydney stadium will be used by numerous clubs and sees a boost. Other than that the Sydney crowds look like they will be static or worse case in decline for the foreseeable future.
Melbourne are looking good presuming they cope with the loss of the big three in a couple of years time, Newcastle we know will come good when the club does,
Warriors must have potential for a lot more
Broncos will continue to lead the way and maybe even grow as they get less Friday night games in the new NRL controlled scheduling.
Titans jury is out and will depend on the quality and depth of pockets of the new owners.
Raiders, small town, never going to top a 15-16k avg imo.
Cowboy, new stadium should see a boost if they cope with loss of Thurston in future

What crowds are we expecting this week?. I reckon this week may be pretty good across the board and it might even be the highest average round so far. Got Brisbane playing at home & second QLD derby in GC plus Eels at ANZ taking on the Sharks should get 16-17k.

We do have Panthers hosting knights on friday 6pm so that will be lucky to get half the crowd they got on saturday. Rabbits vs Roosters are on a Thursday so not sure how the biggest rivalry in the league will go in that slot, the two sunday games will depend on weather. With the Tigers form I'm not sure how many will make Leichardt against an out of town team, hopefully the Dragons fans are buoyed by a decent effort on sunday and show up to Kogorah.
