Disco Dave has got massive issues...
I can't believe the NRL put this match on a Thursday, although anything below 16k would be disappointing for the biggest rivalry in the NRL.I won't be going to ANZ on a Thursday night. Too much effort to pay too much money for an away game in a crap stadium for a local derby 20km away from being local.
If the NRL doesn't care about crowds, why should I?
Friday Saturday or Sunday (or SFS) and I'm there.
Souths V Roosters 13,000
Penrith V Knights 10,000
Broncos V Raiders 36,000
Manly V Bulldogs 12,000
Parramatta V Sharks 19,000
Titans V Cowboys 15,000
Tigers V Storm 12,000
Dragons V Warriors 14,000
Can a Sydney game crack 20k
by round 4?

the NRL didn't put it on a Thursday
Ch 9 did
next season that game won't be on a Thursday .. it will be played in a far better time slot because the NRL will protect the bigger marquee games from these idiotic time slots.
broadcasters have destroyed what semblance of an attendance culture our game may have had over the last 10 years ...& it wasn't that great to begin with
heres hoping its retrievable
Roosters v Souths simply doesn't belong on a Thursday night. I can understand wanting games on that night but this is a waste. This is the sort of match that should be attracting big crowds (as in at least 30-40K) and bringing hype to the NRL.
It's not just a crowd thing either. I guarantee if there was talk all week that a monster crowd was going to show up that the ratings for the game would improve as well.
I'm not saying I disagree with those predictions but that's some more poor crowds really.
Hoping the dragons can get more than that. Their last crowd was a surprise and their form has been much better than expected.
13K would be shockingly bad Thursday night or not.
hahaha
yeah sure
we got 16,000 on a freezing monday night V the Storm late last year who also brought no one with them
at some stage the excuses need to stop !!
last nights effort again was below par
lets hope your fans get on board their premiership winning teams wagon like our fans have eh ? : )

If there was a notable decline in the average I'd agree. It's stayed in the same 2,000-odd bracket for the last ten years.the NRL didn't put it on a Thursday

And your averages last year Einstein when your club was doing well on the field. In a fully seated stadium. And you are talking about excuses LOL
You got thrashed last weekend by the Sharks,I'd be pulling my head in .Sometimes it pays to be humble.

Late last year? When your team strung a few wins together and were making a run to the finals with the bandwagoners out in full force. Not exactly like the start of the season is it genius dave
Humility? This coming from a sharks fan to a raiders fan.And your averages last year Einstein when your club was doing well on the field. In a fully seated stadium. And you are talking about excuses LOL

You can paint it as some sort of horrible thing all you like, the figures are relatively stagnant. If we dip below 15k as the overall average then I think we need to be worriedits been on a steady decline for the last 5 years .. people have had enough of barriers being put up to attend games
so they've stopped .
It's a joke isn't it. Souths vs Easts the oldest club derby in the sport in the Southern Hemisphere and it's on a Thursday night at ANZ.
I'm going but I can't really be bothered already. That places sucks the life out of me.
If I wasn't working afternoons for the next 6 weeks with us having 6 Friday games I probably wouldn't bother either.
