With the new NQ stadium getting built in the cbd, I really hope we find something to do like the Raiders have done. Sure, they've copied the clap from the soccer mobs and the minnesota vikings with the horn, but who gives a shit, at the end of the day it engages the fans and will more than likely get the tin lids to want to go back which creates a new gen of fan.

Worlds biggest cowbell. Ring it 90 minutes before kick off to summons the crowd. Then when they score.
The crowd can chant "NEED MORE COWBELL!!" (if you don't get that reference youtube or google image it).

The Knights used to have a horse running around the ground with Knight on it. Was great. Not sure why the horse wasn't replaced when it retired. The broncs used to have a horse do a lap each try I thought? Do they still do that at their home games?

Probably animal advocates protesting against it I imagine

14,247 at SCGS for the derby on a Sunday night. Not too bad.

Dragons played in relatively fine weather, one of only four games in Wollongong.

Sharks played second home game in poor weather after a weekend of storms and flooding.

And even then, they only got 400 less than the Raiders who had the advantage of an afternoon timeslot.

Jog on, Dave.

The clubs should go back to suburban grounds if only for the reason that 15k in ANZ stadium looks like a joke.

Highest of the round. Not sure if we've ever held that title before??

Anyway - knew it was going big to measure up as a good crowd

But but but this was the derby, tribalism, heritage, love of suburban grounds blah blah blah.....
Not many dragons fans there, acceptable crowd under gloomy skies.

NRL hate their fans, it's the biggest game of our season and we get 6.30 on a Sunday night.

Surely a clubs biggest game they can get their preferred time slot?

The NRL make it very hard to support them sometimes, now we have won the comp and I've seen what I never thought I would it's hard to care as much, the NRL clearly don't care if I care!

How ridiculous that a sport doesn't control it's scheduling.

No different to 6pm Friday timeslot. You would want to live close to the ground if you work till 5 like most, then have to get to the ground, get a park, get in etc.

The NRL would be happier if everyone just stayed home and watched it on fox or FTA to maximise their TV deals.

It's so short sighted for the NRL to rely solely on TV.

If people stop going to games they become less interested overall and lack of crowd numbers affects the product shown on television.

The game lacks atmosphere and just becomes less interesting to everyone and you go down a slippery slope and end up being as relevant as rugby union.
