Souffs v Roosters 20k
Penrith V Newcastle 7k
Brisbane V Canberra 36k
Manly V Bulldogs 16k
Eels V Sharks 18k
Titans V Cowboys 17k
Tigers V Storm 15k
Dragons V Warriors 16k

These are predictions based on no rain

If it rains pretty much halve them all

16k is basically a full house at Brookie these days.
No chance of that this week.
We could barely crack 16k when winning comps.
11-12k tops

Expecting an awful crowd tonight. Haven't seen a single shirt from either side between Liverpool and Lidcome. Normally get a fair few no matter who we're playing.

Weather is a bit average though right? Looks like some light showers around.

Got to stop coming up with excuses and start finding solutions. AFL is on tonight in Melbourne and looks like a near full house at the MCG.
The NRL need to understand the effect the crowds have on people actually following the game, especially younger people. We are in WA which is an AFL area but our house is all NRL, but my 11yo son was flicking between the NRL and the AFL earlier and he has decided he wants to watch the AFL because there was more atmosphere.

Thursday should be only a season opener and select few other games in the season. Week in week out it wears thin really fast since its a weeknight. 8.05pm start Is also far too late for kickoff

Honestly it would not surprise me if the overall average dipped below 14k this year, its hard to imagine any Sydney game getting over 15k these days and 20k is certainly a massive stretch in this schedule

It's self fulfilling, crowds bring people, and ATM no one sees value in going to nrl games in Sydney, no one ever expects big crowds in Sydney so no one is drawn to go. Until the clubs & NRL actually get on the same side and unite to find a solution it will not improve.

Sydney is a perfect storm tonight

Apathetic public generally
Shit roads
Nrl scheduling so unfriendly
Rain for 3 weeks
No free trains anymore
No promotion .. swans had full page news ad
Local derby 30km away from local areas
A week of coaching dramas sucked all air
South's ordinary start to year

That's the stuff Greenberg and NRL needs to hear. Send the merkins an email or tweet, would be interesting to see if they even acknowledged it

yep. Cannot blame form after 3 games though, they have had a win after 3 games

On-field and game promotion is literally the last thing discussed on any given week in the media

There is absolutely no buzz around nrl for the non die hard fans

All the coach sacking gambling and stuff we all love to talk about the die hards I mean

But the casual fan seriously cant be f**ked.. Whats in it for them no atmosphere, shit logistics, rain,

Its so easy to not care

Like someone said earlier, and it has been mentioned sparodically for a while ....if the NRL are so obviously apathetic about their crowds, why would they expect anything different from the fans ?
Ths cycle is self perpetuating.
