Remember the different 2 GF's these clubs played in the 2ks and the impressive sea of black and gold and red and green at ANZ? I know both are not exactly killing it on the field at the moment but FMD, where the f**k are the fans when the 2 clubs really need you?
There's this novel thing called form which generally sees attendances ebb and flow for most clubs...

Fans are there.. they show it in finals etc when it means something..

It just seems these games feel like so meh, no one cares ..

What is riding on it ?

Position 11 v position 12 on ladder ??

24 games with a top 8 makes it possible to lose up to 13 games and make finals

So if it's not important.. why would fans make an effort to care

Nrl don't really make it feel special..?

Players don't care worried about next year's contract ?

Clubs don't seem to care .. getting $ of anz anyway ?

Media don't care .. just want to sell papers or clicks ?

So this is the result

No shit Tim.

There's also this thing called 'turning up for your team'. Im not the typical ignorant qlder that is going to rag on sydney/nsw teams for rivalrys sake, i've lived in Sydney for 10 years and loved it. But 3 foundation teams are being represented out there tonight (obviously 2 are now joined) and this is all that can get off their ass and turn up?

several one word terms to describe not just the fans of these 2 sides
but most sydney sports fans
fickle
passionless
entitled

its been this way for 100 years though ...

Swans and wsw seem to do ok, maybe it's just some teams fans?

wsw lol

if theyre not playing FC
they can barely crack 10K

the Swines will be down to ex pat sthners only in short time if they continue to lose games

its a sydney thing
not an NRL thing

No amount of money is worst this embarrassment match after match.

The game is very bad shape on so many metrics (except membership oddly). It will be a miracle if it's still around in a few decades

Ok the clubs decide where the teams play but the nrl controls the scheduling and could promote the games..

What's the reason for the poor crowd.?Stop making excuses for the nrl. They are running the game. So the buck stops with them.

If we have big crowds the nrl take credit for them.

So when we have shit crowds you say it's the clubs problem not the Nrl's..turn it up buddy.
The clubs collect the gate, the nrl don't, it's the clubs game to promote, it's their responsibility. You don't see clubs outside Sydney whinging that the nrl don't promote their home games for them. Sure, the nrl could always do more to promote games, but it's still the primary responsibility of the clubs. Clubs need to do more, get more creative, not just serve up the same old crap and expect people to turn up in doves. But, no, it's easier to sit back, do nothing, and point the finger at the NRL.
