a
but again
you're using individual examples of teams to prove your point about codes
fact is
RL , the NSWRL, ARL , NRL is doing no better or worse then anyone else crowd wise compared to where they were in 1993

Ok, now thats twice now you have completely missed my point and gone off on your own little rant because it suits your agenda....I wasnt proving a point about codes at all. I was making a point about the extreme measures that clubs went to pre-super league war and of course all the pain and change as a result of the SL war and how little impact it has had on crowds. Particularly when ever other aspect of the game has doubled or tripled (Salary Cap, Grants, TV Grant, Team budgets etc etc etc). Crowds havent kept pace. THAT was the point of my post. Go back and read it (second time Ive asked you to). I actually regret the throw away line about other codes that I put in there because I couldnt give a flying rats arse TBH. It has detracted from my point.

Youre typical of the type of RL fan i hate too
i love RL
i love RL
but youre ignorant , negative & happy to talk it down at any opportunity even in this day & age when given its history & the way its treated by the media
plus dopes like you supposedly supporting it , Its thriving in reality with more people watching it then ever before
is it perfect , no of course not , no sport is.but we're the only code that has fans like you
will join a circle jerk to put your fav code down , & won't defend it
but sure .... you love it right lol

I actually never said I LOVE RL. I have been closly involved for 40 odd years with family members involved in the old Balmain management. I LOVE the Tigers. I said its my favourite winter sport. I have been here for seven years but rarely post (150 posts in 7 years). Kindly point to examples of me talking it down at any opportunity. I can think of (nearly) once, my last post. You have a bad habit of putting words in my mouth. Perhaps it would be best if I step aside and you can have this conversation with yourself?

Facts aren't what you *think* something is, they're actually what is happening and can be verified.

Fact: the Swans' average home crowd in 1997 (twenty seasons ago) was 35,818.
Fact: the Swans were for the bulk of that 20 years, the only AFL team. Ever heard of supply and demand?

Fact: within 3k is not "neck and neck". (It's also ludicrous to compare a 10 team competition to a 16 team competition.)

Fact: WSW averaged 14,711 last season, one in which they finished 2nd and made the GF. Canterbury & Wests Tigers both averaged more than that in 2016, while Cronulla, Manly and South Sydney were just behind them.

It helps if you verify facts before bringing them to the table. Perhaps you need to consult the doctor?

Thanks Timmah for the heads up but I stand by my definition of facts.....such as

FACT: WSW are currently averaging 21493 for THIS season (http://www.ultimatealeague.com/records.php?type=att) which is 4-5K more than any Sydney NRL team for last year.

Swans averaged 33K last year (http://afltables.com/afl/crowds/2016.html) which is more than double NRL average attendance (http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/threads/2016-nrl-draw-results-crowd-stats.450919/).

Using the same data, The A League Crowds this year are averaging within 3K (less) of NRL crowds last year.

These are all FACTS and the only ones I used in my post, the rest is speculation on how I felt 20years ago. So basically , as you said, the FACTS arent just what I think, they're actually what is happening and can be verified, much like my post. (by the way your opinion that within 3K is not "neck and neck" is actually very speculative and subjective, not a fact. Just saying.)

LOL you just got f***** on. Timmah 1 Tiger5150 0. It's called facts what you just said in your post is what you think so your thoughts. Timmah brought out the stats and facts and taught you a lesson. If you are anti RL this forum isn't for you or if you want to talk the game down can do so but only if you have facts if not don't assume things because your post is completely wrong.

Ummm...yeah ok. Taught me a lesson? I thnk you are slightly overstating the importance a RL forum might have in my education. For the record...Timmah shared his opinion as above and its valid but lets not overstate it.

Ok Raider Dave, you say its "obvious" that I dont love RL but in your last post you said I loved RL three times? You also last stated I take "every opportunity" to talk down RL. Now its only one post? Ive only had one opportunity?

You are right on only one point, we are done. I wont enter a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

Fact: your WSW stat is hilariously skewed and based on less than half a season of home games. They've played 6, with one of them taking up 48% of their aggregate crowd. Their average drops to 13,416 without the Sydney Derby which drew 61,880 and was played in Round 1. They're not going as swimmingly as you'd like to make out - that's the point.

Fact: I didn't dispute Sydney's average in the AFL for this year. I disputed your assertion:
If you told me 20 years ago that the Swans would average 33K and double the average NRL game in Sydney (at least) I would laugh.
With the fact they they averaged nearly 36k in 1997 - which was already double the average NRL game in Sydney.

And even then you said nothing of the fact you're using 1 Sydney AFL team (up to 2 in the last couple of seasons), to compare to 8 Sydney NRL teams.

As for 3k being "neck and neck" - we'll have to agree to disagree. Given the pattern of A-League support thus far it's not an easy bridge for them to cross (to make up the 3k) - and that's assuming no growth in the NRL over a similar timeframe.

Ultimately, a great deal of your original post containing alleged facts were either completely false, or misleading use of statistics at best.

That would be like us including the Bulldogs, Souths, Tigers, Eels average after their easter matches as their seasonal average. Usually these teams will average very highly (particularly the bulldogs hosting the Eels), so your FACTS are disingenuous. The A-League really only have 3-4 popular teams anyway the rest get embarrassingly low figures.

Ultimately people will leave out certain games attendance because it does not suit their argument.

The WSW also have another Sydney derby to come at ANZ (50k+) and will ave over 20k in 2017. Parra if form is good will ave over 20k also in 2017.

Its all just a stupid comparison anyways, Wanderers just like the Eels are not playing at Parramatta stadium.

Are you that lazy you can't scroll 30 posts back to find the last update? lol.

189k as at Thursday, very minimal updates from most clubs since then. Without actually running any sums I'd say we're at 191-192k or so. Can't see a 200k until the new year with most clubs having closed their doors for a week or two
