Numbers look pretty good for majority of the clubs. 15k should be expected this year for all clubs. Anyone below 15k need to pick up there game. 20k should be achievable for everyone from Wests and above next year.

Adding the qld and nsw members 350k seems achievable.

we have stalled a bit
if we're looking at 330,000 for 2017 ( 10% increase on 2016)
we'd need a bit of a wriggle on

Sharks numbers are dissapointing
Titans as well
Manly have done better in years where they've performed worse
Roosters the same
one would hope the Broncos can get to 40K

best performers
Raiders
Storm

Agree that the Raiders and Storm are the biggest surprises. Great work there.

Interesting that some Sydney teams have gone down over the years, like Bulldogs and Dragons (for the Dragons it would be nice to know if it is a Sydney or Wollongong based drop off, or across the board). Hoping Parra doesn't follow their lead after a nice run of increases. Assume the decline of the Knights is a combination of their form and no longer having subsidised tickets from Tinkler.

Would have been nice for the Sharks to have received a boost after last year, their low numbers are a little out of place.

For me, everyone below Wests is disappointing...

Parra, Storm and Rairders are all impressive numbers through. Parra should probably end up bigger than Souths.

Any know is Origin memberships are a thing? Given the interest in the event, it would be pretty pathetic if it wasnt...

So we still haven't cracked last years total yet?

we'd be at a tick over 300K because some clubs still haven't updated in a few weeks
last years end tally was officially 299K odd

320K would be a nice round figure
because its a 20K average per club for the comp

Sharks "low" numbers are actually a new club record.

From that perspective it's not a bad effort

Considering what the knights have been through their numbers are more than understandable.

Sharks are promoting memberships atm to push us over the 15k mark by June 30. Anyway so far so good we have climbed to 14507.

I agree it's still disappointing considering there were 70k "Fans" at the GF. Non ticketed memberships are only 50 bucks. Piss poor imho.

according to the sharks membership twitter
Sutherland shire residents makes up just over 50 percent.

so..thats 7thousand odd.

if you had 10 % of the suth population that's 20k.

engagement in the shire is key.

The 70,000 sharks fans being somehow representative of a membership goal is pretty misleading. The bandwagon factor was absolutely enormous. Let me explain. I have a copy of the Daily Telegraph from the day after the grand final.I know SIX people who have their picture in that paper, wearing sharks gear and celebrating wildly.

The first 2 are a couple. They live local, attend matches regularly, are what you would call invested supporters, they attend 5-6 games a year, all the semis and GF and despite regularly being urged to buy a membership won't do it. Whether it is tightness, laziness or whatever they just won't do it. They argue their support is enough.

Then there are two young blokes wearing retro sharks jerseys and embracing madly. They get interested in the NRL around finals time and went along for a good time. They would probably watch between 4 and 6 regular season matches on TV and couldnt name any player outside the superstars. Jayden Brailey, Sam Tagatese, Sosaia Feki could all walk past them in the street and they wouldnt know who they were. Theres no way they are gonna buy a membership.

The other two were bizarre. One is a Dogs member, the other a dragons die hard yet there they were, in a Sharks jersey whooping up the win. Some people just want a party.

All of our social media analytics through SharkCast tell us the sharks have about 8,000 local supporters who are absolutely die hard and fanatical. Nationally that goes out to about 15,000. Then there is another tier of softer support worth about 20,000 and behind them are the absolute casuals. Grand total about 120,000-140,000 "fans" but this includes all the bandwagoners.

15,000 care enough to be members
70,000 will turn up for the first grand final win, but this includes members.
Another 50,000 will watch the GF on TV or like them on facebook or tell their mates they support the sharks.

The numbers track pretty close to this. To get 15,000 to hand over coin is pretty good really. The sharks are still a small club.

I think what we all find is that sometimes especially when you have either just had kids or have young ones, it's almost impossible to get to a game. The choice then is single tickets when you get a chance to go. I think that applies to a large proportion.

Why don't the sharks buy the info off ticketek of all the emails and mobile phone numbers of people who bought GF tickets last year ??

I'm sure it's in the t and c that ticketek can onsell your data

You need to enter all that data on the my ticketek website and you need a mobile to receive the SMS ticket

Then personally call everyone and pitch membership of $50.. get gallen to call them ffs

If the GWS Giants can get more members than the nrl premiers in Sydney

We aren't doing it right
