You can tell the people who have never played or properly analysed a game of footy in their lives when rot like "if you don't win there are no reasons only excuses" comes out of their mouths...

Under TheRam's model winning is the only option and if you don't win then all you have are excuses.

Sadly though, only 1 team wins every year and 15 lose. When the 15 teams analyse why they lost they will inevitably find a set of circumstances and reasons that contributed to them not being successful.

If they are smart they will scrutinise them in depth and look to continually improve. If they aren't they will just label them as 'excuses' and come back the next year as stupid and clueless as they were the previous year.

#RecipeForFailure

Under the "no excuses" model we probably win 2 or 3 premierships over the past 32 years, maybe more. But we HAD an admin that lived off the excuses model.

Hopefully we will start to implement the "no excuses" model more and more over the next few years. But I understand we have come off the lowest base of the perennial failure excuses are us model in the NRL, so it will take a little longer then say a Roosters or Sea Eagles type of setup.

I think we're on the way - Brad Arthur doesn't take any crap, and even when we win, he finds criticisms in our game.

It's a trait I quite admire, so long as the players respond well (and I think they do).

The fish stinks from the head. F**ken!

Thankfully we have a new head, BUT the body has still got a little bit of that smelly residue it need to shed.

Youth brings exuberance, but also inexperience - younger players are prone to make bad defensive reads, and overplay their hand.

We have seen it in our First Grade side, and we saw it in our NYC team.

We should have beaten Manly, but inexperience and clocking off cost us.

But I reckon brighter times are ahead.

Actually it was because we had a dopey membership base (merkins like yourself) holding to the no excuses model that forced successive boards to chase short term success at the expense of proper club building.

You say that, but we have sacked far more coaches than these clubs over the past ten years. Half of you idiots wanted Arthur sacked when we 'went backwards' in 2015. No excuses.

How do people miss this?

The fans are as big a part of the problem as anything else. f**ken idiots like Ram and Jake are able to vote ffs....Two years and no premiership? VOTE THE MERKINS OUT! Then you've got the factions talking utter shit and polluting the gene pool in the front office, people sacking coaches because they don't want to get voted out....

The dysfunction extends to the fans as much as the blokes running the joint.

Using your 'no excuses' model I doubt we would have won anything.

The way you describe it would suggest that you aren't allowed to examine opportunities for improvement or look at your weaknesses because they are just 'excuses'.

How exactly do you improve then?
