Anyway, back to crowds, I think today's heat might just stop a lot of the walk ups turning up. A lot of people would rather be either at the beach or indoors today.
I'd be happy with 16-17000 for today's match. Talk of 20 000 is just fantasy.

Dragons going well is good for the NRL

New capacity hasn't really been tested since the new stand was built.
North wrap is as full as I've seen and is usually a good barometer.
Plus large areas of the hill are standing.

The major reason being the historical significance of winning 11 straight premierships. Things like that engender generational support. Longevity is very important in maintaining and growing support for the code in general. The Dragons are a good example of this.

Has it occurred to you that these are season ticket seats and there was not a lot of empty seats in the grandstand. I think the price is 55 which is a bit expensive but a good crowd nevertheless.
