Firstly
The most difficult route would’ve clearly been public transport carrying all that shit.
You and dopey PR wouldn’t have a clue.
He says 40 mins on a train and 20 on a ferry.
Yet he failed to mention all the other time wasted getting to and from this magical carpet ride we call public transport.

Or do you think we just step out the front door into an empty express train and then straight onto a departing ferry?

Hang on doesn't the train from cronulla stop at circular quay and then it is 30sec walk to the zoo ferry? Buy a blanket, they are easier to carry and will save you driving lol.

And I'm not talking about hosting a Thursday or Friday night regular game in the city. I was suggesting that to maximise Easter crowds an Easter Sunday afternoon game at the new Allianz between St George and Cronulla would be the way to go to aim for a 30k plus crowd. If neither sets of fans can be arsed to once a year go to Allianz for a big event game like this ona day when the roads will be quiet and you have all morning to get there then that is a very poor reflection on the fanbases of the two clubs and the NRL might as well stick with aiming for 12k at Shark Park on a Thursday night.

Ha

No fan of either team want to go to Allianz
It is a stupid idea
It completely defeats the concept of a local derby.
You know less about footy in this country than I actually thought.

I feel like this crowd thread just goes around in circles:

-PR hates sydney

-Carch hates PR and/or leaving the Shire

-CT loves the swans

-I hate the Broncos

Rinse, repeat......... ;-P

Why would I leave the shire?
It’s bloody perfect

Of course it is.
The only halfwits denying it don’t even live in Sydney .

We know what it’s like.
It’s hard enough getting around the shire in peak hour.
I do it and can handle it but getting to places that can take up to 2 hours to get to make it impossible to see the footy.
6 pm Friday game is laughable.

Agree with you on this one

6PM Friday is disastrous for Cronulla. The traffic around Captain Cook Drive and Gannons RD is bad enough at that time, let alone Taren Point RD etc. without the footy being on

Raiders Vs Bulldogs 12K
Sharks Vs Roosters 12K
Dragons Vs Souths 20K
NZ Double Header 25K
Knights Vs Broncos 16K
Titans Vs Manly 9K
Eels Vs Panthers 16K

Potentialy 3 sell out games

Ok mr long haul

Like I said ...Bush towns

180km round trip everyday make you sound like an idiot.
Probably should have kept that one to yourself.

Oh yeah, I mean making the decision between an extra hour of travel and an extra 25k in pay was definitely in favour of driving less. Public transport would've been most difficult carrying shit? Well it's a good thing nobody forced you to do that and it was your own choice. The excuses continue and don't ring true, about a thousand people in any city live right on top of a train station, everyone has to travel, the difference is only one city seems to be inhabited by people who complain incessantly that everything is just that much harder.

Well at 900 kms a week I hope they pay for your petrol and give you a company car or you’re dumber than I thought.

Yeah it’s the people of Sydney.
We’ve all got together behind you and Perth Redtards back to make up stories of ridiculous traffic congestion.

Oh it's not the entirety of Sydney, it is however incredibly prevalent behaviour among the people of Sydney who need to find every possible excuse for poor RL crowds. None of my family in the Northern Beaches and North Shore complain as much as you've done across 3 posts. Legit, you sound like the guy who calls the police when the neighbours party goes a decibel over the council limits.

Nope it doesn't stop at Circular Quay.
Try Town Hall, the Martin Place ,then Kings Cross.
There is no heliport from Martin Place to get to Circular Quay.So it's shank's pony.
Approx 1 hr by train Cronulla to Martin Place weekends.

"When the roads will be quiet" OH please LOL.I thought you knew little about Sydney,I am now convinced.Try 5am the roads are quiet then.

The NRL doesn't aim for 12k Einstein on any night.IMO if the NRL had complete control Sunday arvos would be preferred.
The Sharks benefit financially by playing at Shark Park simply because they own it and get decent crowds.
Maybe with the new SFS and the light rail, things might change.

Forgot about a certain poster declaring the odd empty seat or an inch of space on a hill as ‘not a good look’, in an otherwise good crowd.

.
Wrong!
Your Easter idea has merit but I think you got to listen to the fans of the respective fans on this one. Maybe if st George are hosting and they aren’t hosting Anzac Day in the same season.

Not to mention the leagues club attached to the ground making a killing.

Ive seen continuous excuses from Sydneysiders but I dont think any of them has suggested any solutions? What is it that stops the crowds in Sydney and why is it that you refuse to travel?

Everyone seems to be bagging the crap put of the city and how hard it is to get around but I can't see traffic being that much worse than what Melbourne gets, there is only around 500k more people in Syd and they have comparable areas..

I know this forum hates the AFL being used as an example, but most Mel vs Mel AFL games get at least over 50k attendance, and theres usually always 1 or 2 games with over 70k per round, and the Storm also had I think the second highest average for 2017, despite competing with these huge AFL crowds in an AFL city.

Not personally attacking anyone just genuinely curious what someone from Sydney has to say and whether the game should be complacent with sub-30k crowds or try do something to increase them

The public travel infrastructure is far more user friendly in Melbourne compared to Sydney. The Yarra river is not so much an obstacle whereas the Harbour/ bridge is. Another difference is that AFL is accepted /played in all schooling whereas rugbyleague is not in all schooling. Just a few differences I've mentioned but they do matter.
