The Broncos pay $250,000 every game in rent. There wouldn't be a single NSW club left if they had to pay that. Manly complain about paying $50k, understandable for what is a glorified dog park, but still.

So price gouging tickets instead of making the money the other way is the way to go? Would think getting a bigger crowd would open up more money making opportunities than settling for a smaller attendance due to exhorbitant ticket prices!?

I think you missed the point entirely. If you buy something for $2 are you going to sell it for $1? Of course not, you would be out of business. The Broncos aren't price gouging, they are charging what they have to to not go broke. Sponsorship & game day are the only major revenue streams the Broncos have, they don't have leagues club grants to subsidise their losses.

Nope. Those prices are not catering for the attendees. The point is that by attracting a bigger crowd their is more potential to make more money out of marketing , food and drinks etc. A smaller crowd eliminates this money making opportunity. If we dissagree that having more people attend and using this to have the bigger crowd spend on extras then so be it. Simple as that. You would choose to minimise the crowd with high prices and I would maximize the crowd and extra spending with cheaper entry tickets. We differ! One option will encourage fans to come back and the other will make them think twice about attending again.

Mate, you have no idea. Bigger crowds require higher costs for security, hospitality & transport. They would lose money!

So you're stating it's better to not have a full house!? Have you ever heard of the commerce term called "economies of scale "? If so that term will explain the advantages of attracting a bigger crowd compared to a smaller crowd.

A full peanut gallery is the desired result! But if you are paying peanuts you're bound to get an implosion! You don't have to be a marketing person or teacher to realise that!

Not peanuts. A fair price that attracts a bigger crowd. Some of the stuff/ideas I'm witnessing on this are mindboggling! Business accumen isn't in this peanut gallery that's for sure. Nor is engendering goodwill and cultural popularity of this more deserving code. Wow. Amazing stuff.Go back to school and do commerce again . That's my advice! It won't be adhered to but it had to be stated. I've got a handle on the "peanut gallery " nowadays.

Not a bad crowd for a Thurs night in that shthole.

Dissappointing crowd and look for the code. Perhaps going to smaller grounds on Thursday night games may be better. Belmore may have a better option on this night? The horse has bolted now but I assume the cheaper rental deal at the stadium has necessitated it's use. A bad look for the code was achieved again last night on TV .

11k on a thurs night is ok.
Lower you current expectations.

Agree re Belmore, but they may have contractual obligations the Dogs need to meet at ANZ.

We agree. Bulldogs v Roosters should draw 15000 minimum but Thursday nights are not attractive. And it's not well promoted in my opinion. Was their wet weather in Sydney last night? Given that it's school holidays a special deal/promotion for young families might have drawn a better crowd? Don't think the marketing people are approaching games with a proactive and progressive mindset?
