Great crowds across the weekend. Now let’s build on them not throw it away because clubs/Kent/Gould whinge about it.

Mate, I'm planning my first trip to Perth next year to attend the Origin game. Is there plenty of good accommodation close to the stadium? What in your opinion is the best place to buy tix at Optus? Sides, ends?

TBH I wouldn't stay near the stadium unless your super rich and can stay at Crown! Everywhere else around there is a bit of a dump with not much going on. Stay in city, there is easy and free trains to the stadium from there every few minutes on game day.

If you dont mind which State end your in (presuming they allocate ends) doesn't really matter as great views pretty much everywhere. If its a night game sun wont matter. Probably avoid front lower section to stay dry and Id aim for Southern-Western side of Stadium as that is where our storm fronts blow in from if its crap weather and the stand behind you will protect you more.

Section 133-139 but at back of sections would be a good reasonable priced option with best weather protection.

TV rule you should know that. TV won't let the comp stand down for a few weeks
of course they won't & its not required anyway.
you'd get more sense talking to the cat then some in here because
they don't get it , it went well this weekend , even quite well , but lets not wet our pants

The assertions that the ratings are "down" is utterly absurd. Origin 2 was less than last year by a small margin, but the other matches all performed either similar or better to comparable NRL games in similar slots.

Particularly the 6am game on FOX lol

hahahaha
so
assertions , that are actually .. facts .. are absurd are they ?
that'll do me

Crowd and ratings wise the women's Origin matched Manly v Cows game the other week. Yet one is a success and one isn't.

Same for Sat 17k is a good crowd for a test but if an NRL double header got that? Ratings were no more than an NRL Comp game.

Then of course Origin rated lower. So no better than an Origin affected round. These are what sponsors and broadcasters will use to see there is no extra rep weeks

You can’t make a determination after one round. Hardened fans know what’s on but casual fans need routine to help them tune in. The women’s game should grow after that effort it and is very different to a routine round game.

I have heard plenty of people in passing say they didn't realise Origin was on. One Women's origin game a year works for now it can build from that

The carry on from a very small number of people that continues reminds me of that saying "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got".

I'm not suggesting that a three-weekend break mid-season would work - I'm suggesting that it's worth exploring.

That is true but there are no less NRL games in the proposed idea. The broadcasters would technically get one less week of NRL (full NRL schedule over 24 weeks as opposed to 25) and 2 extra rep weekends on this year so they are in front in terms of content.

10K ?... In Adelaide ?
that would be the end of the section for NRL games in Sth Australia if that's the crowd
I think it'll get somewhere near what it got last year
