Yeah, shark park probably sets the standard for food from the grounds I've been to.

There's some pretty bleak game day food experiences around.
I dont eat at the footy but my son goes and gets food every game.
He has come back to his seat with some pretty good stuff.
Had a whole pepperoni pizza last game.$10

US has 53 cities with metro populations of over a million, is the richest nation on earth, and most cities have one club to all follow.

It is these small details that people like to overlook when trying to bring up how other countries should learn from the nfl.

if people want to imagine what it would be like to replicate that over here, just imagine the blues and maroons as clubs in a league, and you get a better comparison....and one that shows we could do it just as good as them given the same circumstances.
Also with the US, the colleges over there are huge and going to watch their games is ingrained in the student campus and community culture.

The NRL can learn from any league with strong crowds but as you say, just comparing numbers isn't telling the full story

The Beer, Food and footy festival at Henson Park last weekend was a better game day experience than anything I've seen at a top grade game in a few years. If a NSW Cup side can do that, why can't the top sides?

And they got a better crowd than some of the NRL games that round.

thoughts
it was 3 below zero
not 16 like it was in Sydney last night

anything else I can help you with ?

Keep rolling out those excuses.

If the cold climate is an issue for canberra fans then they may as well move the team because the joint will always be cold in winter.

it isn't an issue if we get 9500 to a game that in similar conditions in Sydney would get 950

How awful is Sydney.

When we get 18,000 after three consecutive wooden spoons, and there is the privilege of seeing the likes of South Sydney, Roosters etc play in the form they are in - what excuse is there?

What evidence or precedence is there to suggest that sydney would have got 950?

That is right up there with "if raiders were hosting an all top 4 clash their wouldn't be a spare seat at GIO" with the only game you were able to cite as evidence being laurie daley's farewell from 18 years ago which wasn't actually sold out.

The fact is the raiders have consistently been down the bottom of the attendance figures ladder in the NRL era and if you are serious about increasing crowds they would be the first to go.

So you have no evidence or precedence.

They've played 1 prelim final in 20 years & no GF's
compared to 5 Grand Finals & 2 premierships in the same period for your mob & your lot get about 25 more then us a game
& we should go ?

hahahahahaha
hilarious

Sydney
that's our problem … end of

The Cowboys are also the only NFL team that plays out of Dallas, and only one of two who are situated in a Texas. These factors help a lot.

True but High school football in the Dallas Fort Worth area gets better crowds than Sydney NRL clubs.
(and by the way the game day experience at high school football in Dallas leaves NRL for dead a good many of the fans go for the other stuff not the football).
