f**k Thursday night. It’s such a sheet timeslot

The NRL should play only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday or public holidays if they suit. Pretty simple. Aussies like their weekends and Thursday night or any other weeknight except for Friday evening are not considered our weekend.

No way. It’s makes too much sense and would be beneficial for the game. Greenberg would never go for it.

Let’s play all 8 games at 4pm Sunday every weekend so there would be no reason to complain, whinge, bitch or moan.

Be like the old days, one game at 3 pm Saturday and the other five at 3 pm on Sunday .You would get the Saturday game delayed at 6 pm on the ABC or you could watch it live if you could pick up 5A which was the regional ABC channel and the Sunday game was on delay on 7 at 6pm, ah those were the days .

TV channels don't seem to have a problem with AFL games overlapping? Yet another TV issue we sold cheaply.
If they overlap by 30 or 60 minutes then obviously you put it on a different channel. There's no point overlapping games by a matter of 5-10 minutes, it's smarter and easier to just have the first game start earlier or second game start later

As they say be careful what you wish for! Everyone moaned when it wasn’t every game live on tv, now they moan at KO times so every game can be live on tv!

As for Thursday, hate to tell you but we’ve got 5 years of it, like it or not.

I would be happy to have Monday nights back instead of Thursday unless there is some holiday on Friday.

No way!!! That's going backwards! I don't like to say it but Thursday is better than Monday . Both are terrible. I can put up with 6pm Friday as a compromise to not having the other weekdays in play.

The only change I would make is ditching the Sunday night slot outside of the first few rounds when it is hot. That game could be played at 2PM Sunday which would require the novel idea of 2 games being played at the same time, a concept that the NRL cannot grasp.

Really?

The first game for the season of a team based in an absolute rugby league heartland that has sucked more ass than a pornstar for the last 4 years, which has just got a heap of stars in its ranks in the offseason against a team that is arguably its biggest historical rival??

Yeah, it’s the timeslot that’s bringing ‘em in for this one for sure......

Dickhead.

Burn! lol

They need to open areas along the sideline on Level 5 for the Perth Double Header, all available seats (except some of the Platinum areas) on the sides are gone and most of the seating around the in goal that was released last week is gone.
Only areas available at the moment are behind the in goal and don't seem to be selling, opening Level 5 would give ticket sales a spike as there would be lots of tickets available on the side. The top tier would be at least 1/3 of the stadium capacity so if they are not opening it I cant see us getting near 30k.

Hopefully will happen this week. They have started to run ads in the West from today

About time free to air coverage happened for Saturday games! Even simulcast with pay tv will suffice. Right now other codes are getting visibility on FTA and rugby league isn't on a Saturday. For 18 rounds other codes get a FTA tv free kick on Saturday and rugby league just watches on ? It's wrong!

Depends, there is an argument that not having FTA on a Saturday is helping drive crowds for those games.

Looking at other codes that's not the case. And it surely means a better presence and visibility for the code on a day where other codes are enjoying the spoils of unrivalled exposure and publicity. It's moreso the kids that watch tv sport on a Saturday arvo that are being exposed big time to other codes and not rugby league. It matters alot.

Other than AFL, which other code is on free to air on Saturday during league season?

Rugby union on ABC and also a commercial channel as of recent years. Soccer on a Saturday night( for 5 or 6 weeks) during NRL season on a commercial channel recently . Most notably AFL in a big way which includes pay tv simulcast as well.
