This is their 18th season in the NRL?
When I think of the Wests Tigers jersey there still isn't an iconic look that comes to mind.
terry hill era was the best

I tend to prefer the Best and Less ones unless the sponsor is well integrated.

The Storm one looks pretty good, and the Eels one is ok. The others look odd without the sponsor

All im saying is that, as a new startup sport, they don't have the luxury to steer too far away from the teams that currently exist. Even established female sports like soccer (W League) and cricket (WBBL) "shackle the women to the men". I don't want to go watch the Manly Mermaids playing in sky blue...it just won't work...include them as part of the Sea Eagles in maroon and white and I have an instant connection and 71 years of history. In fact I find it disrespectful when I see the Jilaroos in a yellow jersey. Why shouldn't they have the same jersey as the Kangaroos like The Southern Stars and Matildas do.

And that there hits exactly on what the NRL should be avoiding at all cost!

The NRL shouldn't be setting up the WNRL to appeal to us in the hopes that we'll show up early on game day to watch it before the real game comes on, the NRL's already got us, we're already paying customers, they should be setting it up to appeal to a new audience as much as possible, using it to appeal to people that wouldn't normally be attracted to RL but could be interested in it in this form, and to do that it means disconnecting the WNRL from the NRL as much as possible!

Also what's more offensive? Not being able to share a jersey with the men or being indefinitely relegated to the under card with no hope of forcing your way into the main event like in those other sports? Cause frankly when you get down to it not sharing a jersey or a brand is not being able to wear a shirt and a logo, really who cares, make you're own it'll hold more meaning to you anyway, but being pegged as a less important event, an opener to the real show, means you'll never get the opportunity to make yourself the main event, you'll never be as successful as those in the more important competition and always be shackled to their success.

Though it means that their is a chance that it may fail, we need to give the WNRL the chance to grow into anything, as big as it can get, and shackling it to the NRL makes that impossible cause then it'll always be shackled to the NRL's success...

As are on field jerseys.
It’s weird that we can only buy embroidered jerseys but the onfields are subd and this is also cheaper than embroidering...

Apart from no sponsors, best and less are actually closer to on field jersey than Rebel Sport...?

The only reason we get sewn on badges with official jerseys is to give the illusion of value for money

I respect your point of view...but not once have I ever said that these games should be curtain raiser "under cards" to NRL games. They must exist on their own.

First time season proper wearing the blue jersey and already a patch over the chest sponsor. Same sponsor with some variation. It was worn in the trial and there was no patch.

It's nice that you never said it, but that is the reality of things as that is exactly the way things are going...

This year they're opening for the finals games, in the next few years they'll be replacing the Under 20s as an opener for the NRL. Even if it isn't a hard and fast rule most clubs will schedule their games as openers for the NRL to keep costs down...

And the mere fact that the're going to be owned and operated by the NRL clubs means that they'll never exist on their own, they'll always be 100% reliant on the NRL teams.

Only way to avoid that is to have separate entities that own and operate the Womens' teams.

From the wider shots, this Knights chooks game could have probably been better jersey contrast wise if Newy wore their blue shorts. I know its hard when their colours are exactly the same bar the shade of blue but every little bit helps

This is what I was going on about a few weeks ago. In a game like this I would want to see roosters in navy shorts. I know no one agrees but it’s hard on the eye

Even better if the Knights used their 1988 original jumper!? Definitely distinguishable. Too much white for mine in this clash.

Can I also just say another reason to go the Best and Less jerseys. The type of sponsorship.

From memory teams agreed not to put alcohol sponsorship on kids jerseys but there is still betting ads. I was going to get my kids a Parramatta jersey a while ago when the kids jerseys where on special. It contained a giant green betting billboard on the back. Just can't subject them to that.

Do you think best and less had to just just envisage what was under the Titans billboard or is the shocking double-edged sword really what exists underneath?

Picked up this vision of a bloke and his 2 sons all in best and less roosters jerseys. They looked great! $160 for all three jerseys! And if you spilled sauce or beer on them it wouldn't break your heart. Just go out, get dirty and have fun in them.
