Suck shit Melbourne you filthy scum hole of a hell hole of a town. The fact that a blue and gold team did you in with less dropped ball than the Sydney blue and golds is totally irrelevant. Now, for the icing on the cake..................tomorrow.

The plans for the next Parramatta stadium are already with the council. They include provisions for fire brigade strategies and a 40,000 seat stadium over Parramatta railway station.

1st game of AFL I watched all year. I dunno but regardless of footy codes, one of the most exciting games of footy I've seen all year. No affiliation with either team, jumped on the Eagles bandwagon for half of footy and was pumped they won.

Give credit to the AFL, they stick to an afternoon timeslot, I got to crack a few beers, enjoy the arvo and have a BBQ afterwards. After dinner it was only 6pm and I was already bitching how tomorrow night I'd still have to wait another hour and a half til kickoff! I get sleepy by 7pm now.
Anyway, hate both teams, don't care, hope the game is good at least.
Probably should stop the Bundy right now......might start telling you all I looove uuuse all.

Agreed. I always had a soft spot for west coast from when I was little due to their colors and eagles sounds a bit like eels . It was a cracking game and I don’t like AFL.

The thing I like most is the afternoon grand final. The NRL trying to squeeze every last dollar out of the game at the expense of what fans want could be one reason why the AFL is winning the war.

I thought it was good when they switched to a twilight GF, starting at around 5:30 or so.
Was a decent compromise between the fans and TV network.
Alas, the NRL went and gave it away again.

Women's game starts at 1.30pm. Reggies 3.30pm. Then crickets until 7.30pm. Not much footy on a day that is supposed to be about footy.

Teflon Cam - will the refs be brave enough to penalise him ?

Shits me how we lost players in the bin all the time in the first dozen rounds where the penalty count was 25 for the match. Our inability to adjust to the crackdown was part of our shitiness.

Today the refs will not penalise for flops, the wrestle “working”, ignore the 10m etc etc. How does Todd not get the bewilderment that fans have about the significant impact that refs have on the outcome of matches ? Pen count will be 5-4 for 80mins. I’m happy about that BTW, but not happy with the inconsistency.

I just hope it's a decent game without any controversy. I'm going for the Roosters in a tight one without a shoulder charge in sight.

We are the only sport in the world to change the way the game is being refereed midway through a season. Ridiculous.
