In the age of the marsh selection criteria, Labuschagne has secured his place for 3 years based on this series.
I honestly hope he gets a ton here, I haven’t seen someone deserve one as much in a while.
For the summer I’d be opening with Burns and Khawaja tbh but we all know they’ll persist with Warner the flat track bully. If he doesn’t get runs in Australia surely that’s the end of him. I’m looking forward to the contest with Boult and the pink ball.

People need to remember that Harris has a terrible work ethic. He left WA because Langer expected more from him. ended up scoring 100s on a flat MCG. Gets selected because a huge hole has opened up at opener and looks ok i guess, but doesn't go on with it.

So he goes into an English ashes with a chance to play county cricket but turns it down for a rest.

But why not go with the flat track bully if he's the best player for the conditions? As long as you have the stones to drop him for OS. I'm guessing you think they don't, and you're probably right.

I do wonder how hard the rest of the batsmen work on their game.

Everybody knows Smith as a guy who obsesses about batting and constantly working on his game. Lasagne himself has said that he's trying to learn everything from him, and the rewards are starting to appear.

If the rest of the batsman aren't working as hard as those two are then they need to get off their f**king arses, there is absolutely no excuses not to. If they really don't want to, they can f**k off back to playing obscure T20 comps in far flung parts of the world
