Jimmy Anderson blames the pitches, not the lame duck English batting order and the only English bowlers worth feeding being Broad and Stokes.

Not sure too many of our batsmen would agree its been Australia like conditions given how the bowlers have owned the batsmen.
Of course if England won and Jimmy played and got bag full of wickets they would have been the best pitches ever.

Important we go for a 3-1 win for a number of reasons

First and foremost that Stokes innings in the 3rd test (where both us and the umpires stuffed up massively to lose the test rather than poms winning it) will get played mercifully over and over in the years ahead. We go 3-1 up as opposed to 2-2, then I believe it will have a lot less exposure and significance, and most will say it "should have been 4-0"

The 24 points on offer in the Test championship

Humiliate the f..ckers when they are down, dont dare let this be a drawn series like "back in in 1972 when Chappelli was captain"

You make a good point about seeing less of Stokes’ innings, if for no other reason than my mental health.

Speaking of mental health relating to the cricket, how close are we on sinking Wade to the bottom of the Hebrides Trench?

*heads proceed to explode*

Rightly so too.

Marsh is Plod, but OK maybe they wanted an e tra bowler to give the quicks a bit less work. That makes a kind of sense.

But Travis Head, for all his flaws, has been our third best bat this series even with a lean tour and was our best while Smith was out. Is he a star? No. Should Harris, Warner, or Wade have been dropped well before him? Absolutely

Harris or Warner are probably they ones who should have been dropped. Basically we've got two reliable batsmen and the rest are kinda sorta scraping by with a handy innings here and there.

Crazy thing is the bar has been set so low, it wouldn't take much from Marsh to do better than any of our underperforming batsmen.... or he'll just join the club.

Even Wade for all his faults this last test did help arrest the slide the second innings with Smith. If Wade goes early there's every chance it's Tasmania all over again where Smith remained not out and watched a procession at the other end with us bowled out for about 80.

That said, when it's summer back here guys like Burns, Patterson and Pucovski should be gunning for Wades spot and taking it. I believe they're all more talented.

Harris hasn't done much of anything and Warner looks completely shot. I don't see him turning it around this quickly. I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong and have Warner make an impact that actually helps win the game, or at least not lose.

This will likely be the best batting deck of the series, nice one off test for Marsh to get. A half century probably buys him the whole of the coming summer.

The Big Bison to unleash on the Poms!

I'm predicting 25 runs, no wickets but a ginormous set of levers!!!
