The 40/20 especially was a real shock. We haven't seen him kick anything but a bomb since the end of 2016.
I believe it was his 1st 40/20 since April 2016 in Holden Cup.

Kicks the first 40/20 of his career the week before the coach is sacked. I wouldn't be surprised if Nathan wasn't one of the players unhappy with Griffin.

I think any half would be a little unhappy with hooks game plan. Imagine telling a creative player like Maloney or Moylan when and how they can kick and limiting their ball playing options with flat structures.

The Board needs to step in here and say we are going to prepare a short list based on the applications and then conduct interviews.
No handpicking of coaches based on what Gus wants.
We have 3 months to get this right. There is no immediate rush to settle this in the next fortnight.

Journalist David Riccio was interviewed on 2UE this morning and he said that the word he has out of Penrith is that the players have been following Hook's "game plan" all year to start games and then when they get behind, they throw it out the window and follow Cam Ciraldo's attacking plan, which has been working. Not sure how good his mail is (maybe Daz can clarify), but if true, we could be in for a big score this week.
Contracts for employment, such as a coach’s contract, are not specifically enforceable (in other words, you can’t enforce a contract of employment to compel someone to keep working for you). That is because it would be akin to slavery.
I would therefore expect that Ivan’s contract would allow him to leave Tigers on giving notice (whatever that notice might be under the contract). However, even then, he could simply walk away from it.
There could be a restraint clause in the contract that restricts Ivan from working for other clubs for a certain period, but that is also very unlikely to be enforceable because the market for coaches is so small it would likely leave him without work at all.

Panthers offer long-term deal to Ivan Cleary to leave Wests Tigers
Penrith have offered a four-year deal to Ivan Cleary that could force the Wests Tigers to search for their fifth coach in eight years.
