Thursday night should just be off limits for big local derbies. The TV ratings for the cowboys vs storm or most Sydney teams would be just as high as against the broncos. You gain practically nothing in terms of ratings but lose out on 1000s at the gate.

Having said that for a team currently on the bottom 4 playing on a Thursday night that’s still a decent crowd. Especially considering how difficult travel is for cowboys fans. Just a shame because it could have probably come close to a sellout in most other time slots.

NQ are one team that shouldn't get games on weekdays. If not for the magic round crowd figure farce the crowds ave would be ordinary

What farce are you referring to? Counting the full round aggregate (Day 1+2+3+4, not the 8 figures provided) and dividing by 8 the crowd stats are below but reasonably close to last season.

No way 30k was there to watch Panthers v Tigers for example. Not sure of the best way to count it but even with the inflated ave for that round the crowds are still down from last year.

Sad thing is the wrong things will be blamed and not the schedule or the poor standard of play this year
