Will end up being one of the best Thursday crowds this year. Whilst it will help crowds a tremendous amount it won’t suddenly make every crowd into a huge one.

big hit!

Certainly didn’t look like 16k on TV. Top decks looked bare.

A derby, it Would’ve been 25-30k if played in any other slot than Thursday night or Friday 6pm.

Welcome to the NRL, the professional League which schedules matches for lower crowds. We also got a prime time disease after that game.

Given Penrith's form (and the Eels recent form too), I seriously doubt it would have gotten over 25k.

Why they played them on a Thursday is beyond me. You are right would have drawn 25k any other day. Panthers fans were obviously not there in big numbers, doesn’t matter 16k is a good solid crowd figure instead of 9k at Homebush. That’s a 7k difference for one game alone. What’s the crowds looking like overall, I think up overall

Newcastle looking goooooooood tonight. If most of the members turn up, could be in the 24,000 - 27,000 ranges

No real surprise with Newcastle.

Obviously they always get good crowds but its gonna be a pretty good one with their recent form and up against the premiers.

The main thing is on the worst time slot of the lot..

The game actually looked ok to be shown on national tv..

The actual game was a shitfest.. low bludger of a game.. but it looked 90% better as a spectacle than a game at ANZ with 72,000 empty seats in bright blue..
