Cheers for the laugh. JFH does not give out the penalties like Jack does.

Too much is being made about the supposed ill discipline from Jack Hethrington.

It really is a non issue. Yes he has done some dumb things, yes he has given away a few too many penalties and served a few suspensions along the way.

JFH in the 2016 Semi Final against the Canberra Raiders gave away two penalties for high tackles in the latter stages of the game when the momentum was all with the Panthers. Were they high shots, maybe, were they worthy of conceding penalties, maybe but maybe not. Regardless, the two penalties he conceded turned the momentum back to the Raiders and we lost.

I thought JFH was very hard done by in that semi final in 2016 and I think Jack Hethrington was equally hard done by this season.

Jack Hethrington will learn from his mistakes, sort his issues and will be a regular starter in 2019.

There is room for both in the squad.

Hetherington and Luai both missed the 2016 NYC GF for copping 5+ week suspensions.

He was in an out of NSW Cup with injury. Didn't play the Final last year.

Got binned and suspended round 2 this year in NSW Cup. Kept that going across the year. Needs a stint of just playing footy before can throw him away .

Ideally he starts in NSW Cup next year playing long minutes and go from that

In the post match interview after the Dragons game DWZ said when he's playing fb he the guys he rides the most (about defending fatigued) are Merrin and Hetherington. He'll always walk the line and sometimes go over it but he might improve if got fitter. Confidently Merrin has given away the 3rd most penalties in our team, the most of any forward (according to fox lab).

Though tbf I think for Herthington it's more he goes 100 miles an hour and tries to put a hit on every tackle.

For me, the main problem is that he is completely and utterly brainless (on the field; would have no idea what he is like off it).
I'm not saying it'll completely fix up his discipline. He'll always be aggressive and at times goes over the line but I think it would at least lessen the penalties he gives away and is a step in the right direction. Idk maybe he's already one of our fitter forwards and just needs to be told to pace himself a bit more.

Not the first nor last player to be though. When he stops trying to make a statement every play, I think he’ll improve substantially. Hopefully.

A lot of the issues are immaturity across the team. The only guys we have seen their best is Mansour, Whare, Maloney, Merrin and Tamou.

With them it is getting them to show it regularly. The rest it is just having the right things in place to get them to where they should be

I think the Roosters clearly demonstrated where you need to be to win a premiership.

There defence was outstanding all season and against the Bunnies & Storm in the finals basically impregnable.

At no stage in 2018 did we demonstrate any where the level of the same defensive capabilities as the Roosters.

We did well coming back from 12-14 point deficits on numerous occasions this seasons but if we give up so many soft points in 2019 well we will be lucky to make the top eight so it is clearly an area we need to address.

How they managed to win with some super inconsistent players in Napa and JWH is surprising

Siosiua Taukeiaho, Isaac Liu and Zane Tetevano hold the middle really well.

Cordner often spends time in the middle third defending when their props rotate.

They’re a solid pack even without Napa and JWH
